[ When the video cuts on, it's to the face of a smiling young woman in a soft pink dress in front of a backdrop of a wall of glowing crystals. She's glowing, too, or at least the little markings under her eyes are. A small family of pastel mice sit perched on her shoulders, two to a side, but apart from that quirk she looks very prim, even dainty. ]
Good evening, Lunatia. I hope this message finds you well. Now that the dragonsong has finallyabated, it seems the perfect time to introduce myself.
[ Since everyone isn't going crazy with lust for the moment, that she knows of. She's new, okay? Give her a month. ]
I am Princess Allura of the planet Altea, a Paladin of Voltron, and one of the founding members of the Voltron Coalition. Perhaps these things don't hold any meaning in a reality where Voltron--and maybe even Altea itself--never existed, but I imagine many here find themselves in a similar position.
[ The smallest mouse on her shoulder squeaks, distracting Allura long enough to pass her a tiny piece of fruit with a light chuckle. ]
At any rate, I am newly arrived here in Lunatia, and since it seems there's no telling if or when I'll be returned to my own reality, I hope to become better acquainted with this place and my fellow Moonblessed. What are some of the things you most enjoy about this world? What places would you recommend visiting?
Also, if anyone would be willing, I’d be thrilled to have a few sparring partners to help keep my skills sharp. Please let me know if you’re interested!

Then again, he does actually look different. His features are a bit sharper than she remembers, and there's a very noticeable scar on his cheek. ]
Keith! It's good to see you, too. I arrived very recently, just before the dragons began their mating songs. I came through at the rift between realities that we traveled through to investigate the Altean distress signal broadcasting from the Telgalax-class ship we located. We were being fired upon as we tried to return to our own reality. That's the last thing I remember.
[ On her shoulder, the mice jump and squeak, waving greetings at Keith as well. ]

Okay. So this is kinda gonna be hard to explain, but stick with me. Do I look different to you?

[ Spacetime is funny like that. ]
I know the other Paladins are from further along than I am. You are too, I suppose. I wonder why it is that I'm the only one so far behind?

Well I was farther along than everyone else back home, too. [ Where to even start? ] I-- I met my mom. She's a Blade like me. We went on a mission together and were pulled into a Quantum Abyss.
[ Damn, so much has happened. Keith feels a twinge in his stomach when he remembers the Altean colony and everything with Lotor-- he can't even begin to figure out how to approach that one. Better save it for later. ]
We spent two years there together, but time stayed the same for the rest of you. So that's why I look older.

[ Though if she's anything like the other Blades that Allura has met, she can only imagine someone strict and proud like Kolivan. ]
That sounds like quite an ordeal, though. I can hardly imagine being separated from the others for so long, but at least you weren't alone. Are you all right? Have you been here long?

I'm fine, Allura, thanks. And-- I've been here a while, actually. A year. [ Yep, more time shenanigans. Just serve past it. ]
My mom is...I dunno. I can't really explain it, but we just...click. It's funny-- I spent so much time imagining what she was like and none if it came close to the reality. Somehow she's so much better.

[ She tries to make it sound like a joke, but it's not really funny, is it? All of her friends have been in this or some other world for so long now without her that she imagines they've grown accustomed to it. Does any of them really need her around?
She gives herself a mental shake, trying to clear off those depressing thoughts, but others rise up to replace them. She's... jealous? Of Keith? She doesn't mean to be--doesn't want to be--but there it is. Just a pang of envy twisting under her ribs. Keith is one of her dearest friends, and she is genuinely happy for him, but there's sadness for herself, too. Allura will never have that moment again, never discover that her beloved parents had only gone missing and that if she were strong or brave or lucky enough, she could find them waiting for her somewhere among the stars. Her mother and father are well and truly dead, and they have been for very long time. ]
She must be a very no-nonsense sort of person if she's a Blade. Do you think you take after her? I've been told I resemble my mother very strongly.
no subject
Yeah. I mean-- we look a lot alike. Except I'm not big, or purple.
[ As much as he does want to keep gushing about his mom, he knows not to twist the knife. ]
Anyway, don't worry about catching up. We can all fill you in on what's happened-- the important thing is to make sure you're settled in. [ A brief pause. ] Did, anyone, uh...tell you about the moonblessing stuff?
