[ When the video cuts on, it's to the face of a smiling young woman in a soft pink dress in front of a backdrop of a wall of glowing crystals. She's glowing, too, or at least the little markings under her eyes are. A small family of pastel mice sit perched on her shoulders, two to a side, but apart from that quirk she looks very prim, even dainty. ]
Good evening, Lunatia. I hope this message finds you well. Now that the dragonsong has finallyabated, it seems the perfect time to introduce myself.
[ Since everyone isn't going crazy with lust for the moment, that she knows of. She's new, okay? Give her a month. ]
I am Princess Allura of the planet Altea, a Paladin of Voltron, and one of the founding members of the Voltron Coalition. Perhaps these things don't hold any meaning in a reality where Voltron--and maybe even Altea itself--never existed, but I imagine many here find themselves in a similar position.
[ The smallest mouse on her shoulder squeaks, distracting Allura long enough to pass her a tiny piece of fruit with a light chuckle. ]
At any rate, I am newly arrived here in Lunatia, and since it seems there's no telling if or when I'll be returned to my own reality, I hope to become better acquainted with this place and my fellow Moonblessed. What are some of the things you most enjoy about this world? What places would you recommend visiting?
Also, if anyone would be willing, I’d be thrilled to have a few sparring partners to help keep my skills sharp. Please let me know if you’re interested!

His question makes her grin, and reaching up to her shoulders, she helps the mice down in front of the camera so he can get a better look at them. They wave animatedly, always eager to be praised. ]
They're mice from my homeworld, but we spent many thousands of years together in a cryostasis chamber together and formed a telepathic link that allows us to communicate. It looks like you have a little friend of your own, there, if I'm not mistaken?

'Mice', you say? What delightful little animals! I do also have a little friend of my own, however.
[...there was also, uh, quite a bit to unpack in that sentence (cryostasis chamber? Telepathic link?? Are they....psychic-type mice...?), but they can circle around back to that; for now, Sycamore momentarily disappears from the camera as he leans down - muttering a quick 'come here, you silly thing, you know you're not allowed to eat that' as he does - before reappearing with what appears to be a small orange fox.]
This is Fennekin! He is not an animal, but a 'Pokémon' a type of creature from my world! I have a few others with me who would also be more than happy to meet you.
[However, for the moment, he leans back and crosses his legs with a smile, Fennekin adjusting his position on his lap accordingly.]
You are new here, you said? If you have any questions, I'd be more than happy to assist.

A look of delight crosses her face when Fennekin appears on the screen, because she's not the kind of girl who can resist a cute creature. ]
How sweet! I'll admit, I've never heard of Pokemon before, but I'd love to hear more about them. [ Especially if they're all that cute. ] Is Fennekin its name or the name of its species? Is it a juvenile or an adult? How big can they get?
[ So many questions, but he's probably used to that by now. ]
I am newly arrived, yes, but I'm very fortunate in that many of my closest friends arrived before me and are familiar with the mechanics of this world. Have you been here very long?

(Besides, it's kind of cheating to whip out Fennekin, he's learned; most people tend to find him ridiculously cute, especially women. Not that he's going to complain about that!)]
It's the name of his species! I haven't given him a nickname of his own, mainly because one day I'll be giving him to a new young trainer who will likely want that honour themselves! So he's quite young, in the scheme of things. 'Juvenile' is probably a good word for it! One day he'll be big and strong, won't you, mon petit?
[...hmm. He really is cute. He'll...try not to use that baby voice again, but it's so hard, when he flicks his ears around like that...
...it's super effective, etc OKAY RIGHT-]
I'll have to show you my other little friends, once they return from playing! But to answer your questions; I've been here around three months. You're quite fortunate to have so many friends here already, though! Lunatia is a lovely place, but it can be quite jarring at the start.
[Especially all the, ah...moonblessing nonsense. Hopefully she's been lucky enough to avoid the delights of Iris...]
But with the right circle of friends, I think you'll be fine. I know I am!

A trainer? How does one become a pokemon trainer? How long does it take pokemon to grow to full size? What do they eat? Are they sapient? [ She shakes her head to halt the barrage of questions. It's too much at once. ] I'd love to meet the others, of course, and learn more about them.
And you're right, of course--it was quite a shock, arriving here. Strange as it is, though, it's a pleasant reprieve from the war I was fighting before.

Slow down, ma chèrie! I do love the enthusiasm, but one question at a time! I'm more than happy to answer any that you have, though.
[Like??? Talking about Pokémon to an attractive woman who is hanging onto his every word? Fantastic. Brilliant. Parfait. Where does he sign?]
Perhaps I could buy you a coffee sometime, and go through the list? For now, however, I'd love to hear some more about that war of yours. If you don't mind talking about it, of course.

The story of the war began ten thousand years ago. The Galra Empire was and still is ruled by a man called Zarkon--a wretched creature bent on conquest. The Galra were once our allies, but Zarkon betrayed us. He killed my father and destroyed my planet.
I wanted to stay and fight, but my father incapacitated me before his final battle against Zarkon. I was placed in a cryostasis chamber and sent away to a far corner of space. When I was awakened, I learned that ten thousand years had passed; my world was gone, my father long dead... I was the only surviving Altean, save for my advisor, Coran, and these mice. The Galra Empire had spread like a disease across the majority of the known universe.
Since then, my friends and I have fought against the Galra to restore freedom to those who have been conquered and oppressed by Zarkon and his armies. We have a weapon built by my father: Voltron, a mighty robot comprised of smaller Lion ships. I would show you an image if I had one.

...it sounds like you've had quite the time, Allura.
[Something of an understatement, but...well. They've had their problems in Kalos - mostly to do with mighty weapons, but that's another story - but nothing that could compare with that.]
Forgive me if the question was insensitive, you're just...not the first young woman I've met here, who is fighting a war back home. I hope being away from your comrades doesn't have you too concerned.
[Or, well. At least she has her furry ones, which is something.]
Nevertheless, I'm more than happy to go back to talking about my Pokémon, if you would prefer.

As it happens, most of my comrades are here, and most arrived quite some time before I did. I can't account for it, except that it's some strangeness caused by a spatial anomaly. Regardless, it seems like the war will be put on hold in my absence.
[ Allura offers a reassuring expression, waving off his concern. ]
I would certainly be happy to hear more about Pokémon. You said the ones you have currently are meant for young trainers--do you have any of your own?
no subject
[The note about her comrades is nice! Apparently all these war-focused young people just arrive in groups. Who knew. Anyway! Talking about Pokémon is one of his (many) favourite hobbies, so!]
I do actually have one of my own with me, yes! He's a bit bigger than Fennekin, however. Just as cute, though, even if I'm only saying that because he's within earshot!
[That makes him grin to someone off-camera, who turns out to be...well, what looks like a dragon. Charizard - when he sticks his head into frame - looks unimpressed, but it's playful; he's used to the Professor and his teasing ways. Especially since he can give it straight back, judging by the way he swipes at him with his tail.]
Easy! Don't set me alight! Honestly, these fire types...
[....right, there is. someone watching them, isn't there-]
Sorry, ma chérie! We do get a bit too into our banter. But I do hope that's answered your question - another new friend you can meet, no?
