hey i have something from home. i want to know what everyone thinks! it's one of my favorites

[There's a couple of seconds where nothing is heard. But suddenly, without warning, a rather distinctive song begins to play:

yes it's the gold saucer music

And no, it's not stopping. Not for a good ten minutes or so. Probably best to just cut the feed two minutes in... or sit and listen. Maybe there's a prize at the end for listening to a 10 minute loop.

There is not.

And yes, a certain someone just acquired a Birdbox from the shop and decided to put it to good use. You know, sharing culture from your home world and all that good stuff. He might also be trying to see if anyone recognizes the music, just to take note who else is from Gaia.]

considering it's the theme music for the gold saucer, the best amusement park in all of gaia, it better be happy! people come from all around to participate and bet in the chocobo races

You must really like this place. Do you go there often back on your world?
I don't know what a chocobo is but it must be very fast if it can race!

not as often as i've liked! i'm a working man and all, so i couldn't spend all my gil at games and rides. :(

and a chocobo is a large bipedal bird that can run at high speeds. because of this, chocobos are often used for transportation as well. they're usually yellow, but through breeding, they can come in other colors.

Really? That sounds busy... you should be able to take some time for yourself.

These chocobo sound fascinating... much like our own winged ones. They mostly fly as mounts, though.

in my opinion, birds should fly, even with a passenger on their back.

i don't personally own one, i prefer other methods to get around. plus, you could say that i'm not a bird fan, all those feathers getting everywhere! such a pain

Some of the winged ones do not— they'll fly on their own but not with anyone else. But there are others who are kinder. I prefer pegasi myself. They're very kind.

Do you own one of these car-carriages? They look very intimidating, but I was recently invited to sit in one. They move so fast!

i do own a car! i saved up multiple paychecks just to afford one of those things, but they sure go fast! and it's just something nice owning a vehicle that you can speed down the road with.

you should try sitting in one again, they get easier to ride over time!

I hope you get to ride it often, then. I enjoy feeling the breeze when I ride my winged mount— but it has been very long since I have. The pegasi here were very frightening and unfriendly.

[ She's usually good with animals but this one almost attacked her when she first arrived! ]

Do you listen to music like this often? It sounds like it would be fun to dance to.

unfortunately, i don't have a car here, i have to work my way up to that again. although once i purchase one, maybe we can go riding together! i promise to go slower for you. i'll even get one that doesn't have a top, so you can enjoy the breeze.

to tell you the truth, i don't listen to this music when i'm not at the gold saucer. i mean, it would just make me want to go there and i don't have the option here! but there are some other songs that i know that are good to dance to

well i was a lieutenant there! so uh, definitely no private! you can just call me mutten though, since we're gonna be friends

heh heh, well, to tell ya the truth, i've never met one! but this is how i'd definitely treat one!

that's okay, we can work up to that. :)

my world is pretty great! i mean besides the gold saucer, there's this major city called midgar! the main hub of the most powerful company is there, so the city is constantly busy and full of life.

[Although unseen, Rufus almost smiles wistfully to himself as he types that message. Midgar truly was something, although in the end, more of his father's city than anything.]

[ He seems nice enough. She's endeared to this Lieutenant Mutten for being a pleasant distraction, hoping she hasn't been too unpleasant herself. She hadn't wanted to socialize for a while until now. ]

Though, Midgar... what a curious name. It sounds very exciting, even in just text. Was this where the army of Shinra worked from, too?

You must have have had so much to do in a city so grand. Would that I could see it... do you know of the "Amphoria Rooms"? People were able to visit images of their homes through them, and show friends where they came from.

yeah definitely! a good portion of the shinra army worked at midgar, but sometimes we're stationed at other cities, such as junon. you know, keeping the peace and everything.

oh? i haven't heard of those before. maybe i can show you midgar through that room! it'd be like a date!

[ She actually hasn't gone in there herself to see her own home world... mostly because she knows she'd get too homesick. It's safer to see others' worlds, at least- and she'll get to enjoy sights she's never seen before. ]
