[backdated: july 3rd] video —> text responses; un: otoproxy

[ although the thought of reaching out via text had crossed his mind (exhausted as it is) more than once, Otonashi ultimately settles on video for the sake of consideration. if anyone had seen Ruca’s earlier message and still had lingering concern, seeing him functional and able to speak for himself should alleviate it.

he’s not quite fine given the tells of poor sleep etched into his face, but he’s not torn to pieces or missing, either.
]

Hey... I just thought showing my face would be the right thing to do after I wasn’t able to for... uh, however long. [ a pause before he continues: ] 3, 4 days? I’m... not your go-go person if you need someone keeping track of time.

[ death will do that to a person. what do days matter when they blur together in endless time? ]

With that great character flaw covered and out of the way... I’m Otonashi. Anyway, I wanted to pitch an idea to everyone for—something like a club? A support group? I haven’t been here very long, but I’m, ah, noticing a trend... [ of people with poor socialization, or who have issues making friends, or trusting people, or... hm. his point. ] ... and I think there’s a lot of strength in organized numbers. I know there are groups designed to protect, clinics, recreation, but I was thinking something a little more informal?

[ he has to workshop it a bit more, but the world certainly has enough space to accommodate wishes such as this. surely it’s feasible, and if it already exists? all the better. strength in numbers. ]

I’m going to leave this here... My roommate insisted I sleep with him, and he was pretty adamant on not taking ‘no’ for an ans— [ almost as if on cue, the sleepy, comfortable voice of Ruca cuts in for those who may be familiar, slurring Otonashi’s name. Otonashi, in turn, takes the opportunity to turn aside to yawn a little. ] —answer... Right, so, let me know what you think..? See you later, switching to text.

( so Otonashi is running on empty, getting back from a series of unfortunate events, and letting everyone know he’s fine following some choice, sleepy wording. chaos may ensue. responses may come from Otonashi or Ruca ([personal profile] demonicbookworm), probably text but may swap depending! disclaimer: they are not, in fact, about to go to town on each other. )

The Moon Knights are a police force - law enforcers - first and foremost, and they rely on the Moonblessed to deal with a lot of the outside threats that target us. It's part of the reason why I'd rather create something more community oriented.

I'm no good at names, but I am good at organizing. I can help to gather resources and make connections with other organizations in the city.

Will this be a primarily online oriented program, or were you thinking of opening up a community space?

[Lio was trying not to make his disdain for the Moon Knights too obvious... which meant he'd bite his tongue on that matter, for now.]

Now that I think about it, there actually is a community center on Level 2, but it's quite small, and I don't hear much mention of it. If the space isn't being used much, I'm sure they'd welcome a program like this to bring more attention to it.

There's also a clinic, and the community garden, both located on Level 2, that could probably pair well with a program like this.

There's a lot we could organize if provided the space, but we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves. The first thing should be a fixed set of goals. And as bad as I am at them, a name would also be important.

Ah, right, speaking of which.

Mine is Lio Fotia. You?

[Lio didn't understand eastern order - not at a glance - given he was born in Michigan. So in his head it's first name Otonashi, last name Yuzuru.]

Lunatia's government is usually in charge of new arrivals, I'm sure they'd have records of newcomers. They do tend to appear around the same time every month, though a bit sporadically, so it'd be hard to track them down without some sort of record like that.

[They definitely didn't all together or even on the same day, for instance. Just within a vague time frame.]

I agree that it's important, though. I know I probably wouldn't even have an apartment right now if I hadn't run into Galo.

Of course I'd never want to push anyone into that kind of thing, but it also doesn't help if such a program is completely off the radar for most people.

Ah, yeah, Galo is a firefighter from my world. He's my boyfriend.

I grew up homeless and on the run, and usually shared communal space with others like me, so being given housing all my own was a really difficult adjustment for me. Galo convinced me to give it a try.

And I don't trust the government either, though I can't say I've been part of any experiments. Not to my knowledge anyway.

[Lio would be pissed off if he found out he'd been part of an experiment without his consent.]

<3 no worries and best of luck in recovering!

I'm sure he'd be up for something like this. He's about as addicted to helping people as I am, I'm pretty sure.

[It's why they got along so well.]

Oh, Otonashi's your surname? Sorry, I had it backwards in my head. Which would you prefer me to call you, then? I know some people who call me Fotia as a formality.

[Mostly it was Galo's fire captain that called him Fotia, but other officials in Promepolis had from time to time as well, whenever they looked to him as the unofficial ambassador for the burnish.]

And it's no trouble. I can't say I have blind faith in it, but I'm willing to see where it leads if it means offering more support to our community.
