Today I'll be starting a new program called Sally Night Live. This program will allow you to listen to some music throughout your evening as well as ask me a few questions over the air. Feel free to respond to this broadcast anonymously or with a pen name. We also do take song requests for future programs that we'll be airing once a month, so make sure you send those in!

Oh, hey, this'll be fun to put on durin' the dinner rush at the grill. But uh, this is probably gonna be a dumb question. See I didn't get to use the internet much back home, so most'a what I know came to me through friends. What is the deal with that song? Anytime someone even mentions it they get all groany like it's terrible but it doesn't sound terrible?

No question is a dumb question, in my opinion! Oh, that rhymed.

Well, it's more like... how do I say it? You know how when people do something quite often that you get tired of all of those people doing it? That's the general feeling people get whenever the song gets played. Like, 'ah, not this again'...

Ooooooh. Okay, yeah, that makes sense. I think I did that to my brother once. I kept playin' the same tape over and over again 'cause it was the only one I had and one'a the ladies who went to the church gave me a used stereo for my birthday. Yukio almost broke the thing he got so pissed off. Honestly I got tired of it too, but the radio didn't work...

I'm not the type of person who would play the song multiple times in repetition, but I certainly do understand people who would! Especially if it's such an earworm. Although having them almost break the thing... what song was on the tape, anyway?

Uuuh. Shit. Man, it's been a while, but I think it was something Morning Masume? Really peppy overly cute pop music. Probably why he got so pissed off.

Aah, I can see now... those can get stuck in your head but also really repetitive. Idol music is just like that.

Honestly I think I only started likin' it cause I listened so damn much. It's not really the sorta thing I was into back then. I've never really understood the whole idol appeal anyway...

There's a lot to like and a lot to... well, not like, too.

I don't know a whole lot about it but I do know they're not always treated well which sucks especially if you just wanna be able to make music. There was an artist I liked who was part of one of the guy idol groups when he was younger and came back as a solo artist who seems like he's doin' a lot better without all that shit hangin' over his head.

They tend to get a lot flack and have to deal with a lot of... rules, I guess you could say?

But that's good - if he's happier that way.

Rules, yeah. Like no dating, always gotta be "on" when you're in the public eye... even if I had some skill with music I wouldn't wanna be under that much pressure. Sounds like a good way to lose your shit and completely wreck yourself. The guy I'm thinking of is doin' real well on the charts and he's got control of his own image so I it's probably a lot better.

Pretty much... I guess there are people who can handle it because they don't have interested in not, but y'know. To each their own, I s'pose.

But having creative freedom is nice.
