I think that's kind of the problem, with mine, is the only lesson they really taught is, there are terrible people in the world and sometimes they do bad things for no reason. That's not a very optimistic lesson.
You get it, though, right? How when you've got something like that, and people find out about it, all of a sudden it's a part of you in their minds. Even if they want to be nice about it, you're still that girl with the scars, or whatever.
