[ Hello everyone, it's Riou sitting at a table surrounded by plants in his greenhouse that he worked on last month. It's relatively together, there's a wood table and bench with what looks like a hand-crafted outdoor bar behind it, as well as a lot of plants and a dirt and stone path leading into the plants. There are red cups at the edge of the table and a gun in front of him. ]

I was told this is a popular thing for people to do.

[ And so, Riou embarks on performing his own rendition of Cups.

When he finishes, he sets the gun down with the safety off. ]

You...would do that for me? I don't want you to go through all that trouble though!! I. I mean it sounds like a lot of work, right? [ And doing it just for him is...it's weird!! Shigeru isn't used to people doing things for him like this. ]

But, yes, that definitely would help!

It would be interesting to learn how to short-term care for wild animals. I haven't done it before.

[ It's partly for Shigeru, but Riou must profess he is actually interested in the idea. It could be fun.

Or it could result in loose animals in the apartment building, but we'll see. ]

You seem like the serious, studious, and conscientious type so they'd definitely be well cared for!

[ It would definitely be something. Shigeru would probably come over to visit just to see all the animals he has. ] Though if it were me I don't know if I'd be able to cook them after taking care of them for however long...

[ This is weirdly not the first time this has been brought up to him. More like. The third person who has talked to him about parenthood...?

People really want Riou to be a daddy. ]

Not considering myself their parent helps when it comes to cooking them.

[ He wouldn't consider himself a parent since he's.. going to cook it.. ]

I don't believe it would be very long in most cases. Just long enough to clear their digestive tract, though that would vary by animal. Sloths can take as long as a month and they're the slowest, so that would be the maximum time.

[ He doesn't know the digestion rates of all of the animals, but the slowest is interesting so he knows it.. ]

[ Shigeru will blink and then huff out a laugh. So serious, but that's what makes Riou endearing. ]

Sloths? I don't think I've ever heard of that kind of animal before. Nothing with that name exists in my world.

But you really know your stuff, Riou! I'm impressed. What kinds of...dishes were you hoping to make?

They're the world's slowest animal on my planet. They look like this:



It depends on what I catch. You can't cook all ingredients the same.

[ And this is why Shigeru could never eat any animal he's tending to. ]

But you're right. Though do you think they have books or something on...cooking exotic creatures here? Like those...octopi for instance?

I will try to show you a real one someday.

[ ..A live one. Not a food one. He should get to see the animal while it is alive! Then whether or not they eat it will be up to Shigeru because he's not gonna make him meet his food first. Riou doesn't mind, but he knows a lot of people take issue with that. ]

Be careful about consuming the octopi. Contact with them can result in lactation or aphrodisiac effects, depending on what you come into contact with.
I haven't found a book yet. It seems most of the population only likes standard fare.

Then I look forward to it! Earth has a lot of interesting creatures in it. And! They're not affected by miasma or anything like that. The creatures back home in my world aren't like that at all.

[ Shigeru is excited about seeing weird Earth creatures, so he definitely is looking forward to it!! ]

Well if you can't find one maybe...writing one yourself could be fun!

What are the creatures in your world like?

I'm not much of a writer.

My world? Well, most of them are dangerous and can really hurt/kill you if you're not careful!! I've been through towns in the countryside completely devastated by corrupted animals. Ones that were affected by the miasma, we call them corrupted. It...changes things, corrupts them, and they turn into eldrtich monsters.

[ Shigeru you're making it sound like a hellscape... ]

But we also have cute things too! Like cats and dogs! I've never had one before because...mysophobia, but they look adorable. [ Instead he has a pet squid?? But whatever he takes it for walks too, so it counts. ]

Well if it's just recipes with a little story behind them maybe someone else could write it.

I'm sorry your world has to deal with that.

I have two dogs. If you would like, you may give them a bath up to your standards. They are very well-behaved.

[ Honestly, Riou is probably dirtier than they are since he's going around outside and touching all the weird animals all the time, but if Shigeru wants to meet Smith and Wesson, Riou will subject them to a proper bath time and help keep them calm during it. ]

Do people want to hear hunting stories?

It's okay. People like me exist to help protect others back home from that sort of thing. So, really, it's not as bad as it seems. [ He did make it sound really bad, which it is, but at least phrobiests are around to help mitigate the damage done. ]

Really?! Dogs are really cute, but kind of messy, which is why I've never had one before. But I think a bath might help me get used to being around them!! I definitely accept! ヾ(´▽｀;)ゝ [ How exciting. ]

I wouldn't mind hearing some. But I've never been hunting before, so, it's pretty intriguing to me. The process and what you have to do, I mean. Especially if the animal you're hunting is super rare and elusive!! An exciting adventure to find a rare creature in the deep rainforest would make anyone curious, right?!

You do good work.

Yes. They are small, so they don't drool much and they are well-trained, so if you want something to stop you can command them to sit. Let me know when you are available.

If you find something rare, you shouldn't eat it unless your survival is at risk. Sustainability is important in hunting. Though there have been a few times I've attempted to capture and release rare animals.

It's really nothing! I mean...that's what people back home keep us around for, so... [ Shigeru please?! ]

They sound cute. I think I could handle giving them a bath, definitely!

Oh right! I guess it would be pretty bad, especially if those animals were important to the environment.

Me? Oh! Well, I...I guess. But people here aren't like the people back home. I was just used for my powers, really, outside of phrobiest based things. Normal people don't like us and being mute just makes it worse. [ But enough of that! ]

But! I'd love to stop by, maybe over the weekend some time? I have off then, if that works!

[ He certainly isn't going to argue that point. Shigeru knows his own world best, even if Riou doesn't agree with it. So he just focuses on making plans. ]

Saturday at 8am. It will be good to get them washed up early, and I will prepare breakfast.
