[Baptiste has spent a bit getting to know this place, but has yet to make any sort of video posting. He starts the feed up to do just that. He doesn’t feel entirely comfortable here yet, but he feels more so than is first day here.]

I arrived with the newest group of people last month and I have yet to introduce myself on this. This thing is somewhat like a social media site or app isn’t it?

[He’s never been one for such thing. Even more so nowadays.]

My name is Jean-Baptiste Augustin, but I just go by Baptiste. On my world I was..a medic. I was never short of people to treat either, but that is to be expected in such a line of work.

I wanted to introduce myself here as well as ask for any information on this place. As I said, I am still new and I believe I have a grasp on the basics. But if there is anything in particular that you think I should know that I might not already know, please feel free to tell me.

[He’s about to end the feed, but he pauses and inquiries about one last thing.]

I would also like to ask if anyone could point me in the direction of a good candy shop or bakery.

I suppose the most pragmatic piece of advice I can offer you is this: don't allow your Chroma levels to become dangerously low if you can possibly avoid it.

[He doesn't go into personal details, but he's seen it, it's not a pretty picture.]

As for sweet shops and bakeries...that is an excellent question.

I thought that might be the case, but its always nice to have confirmation of my assumption. Do you have first hand experience or have you seen someone go through it?

Scouting out the best location to satisfy a sugar craving is a must.

I've seen the effects and I've offered my services to help anyone suffering from those effects, it does bring about a kind of weakness and weariness, but the most visible consequence is that you will change physically, bits of you crystallizing. Seek help immediately in that case.

[He's good for giving the warning signs anyway, everyone should know those.]

I haven't had candied dates in a while, if you find anything decent I wouldn't mind having the details.

[He opens his mouth to say something, but he pauses.]

That is...while I was thinking it could be bad, I wouldn't have expected anything like that. [It sounds like a person can take on some type of monstrous appearance when they drop that low.]

Once a person is help, do they revert immediately?

[It will obviously be important to stay fully ahead of this.]

I will. If you have any specific thing that you like, I will hand deliver it to you as thanks for the information you have given me.

I did not think it would be quite so bad either, but as long as you're not shy when it comes to sharing affections, something as simple as handholding might go over very well. [Dorian's not interested in experiencing the full force of the consequences for himself so he doesn't know the extent of the damage.]

Yes, it's a slow process, but they start getting their strength back and the crystallization begins to recede. If you ever get that far gone, however, more drastic measures might be required.

Ah, well I do enjoy candied fruits, especially dates. I haven't come across anything like that, but I haven't been looking for it either. You would have my thanks.

Something as simple as handholding? I don't think I will have any issue with that. [If that sort of contact is all it really takes, then he can manage pretty easily.] I'm not sure how anyone manages to get within the "danger zone" as far as chroma levels are concerned if taking care of it is that easy.

[Maybe if the person is anti-social or hates physical contact.]

Can I ask your name so I know who to contact?

I suppose if you're a cagey sort of person who finds it difficult to connect with people around you it might not be quite as easy as that.

That is true. But I would think survival instincts would persevere over any desire to keep to yourself. [He says with a small shake of his head. That's how it would be for him, at least.]

It's a pleasure to meet you Dorian Pavus. Have you been here long?

It's shocking how anyone can be so stubborn, that's certainly true. [And some people could be incredibly stubborn, but Dorian wasn't one to push an issue.]

Likewise. Ah, I'd say I've been here a few months, give or take, though I can't be certain if the flow of time is the same here as it is where I'm from.

It's a bit like leaving home for the first time, except with your entire planet instead of just your family. Gotta make all new friends.

Oh, and I found a passable bakery not too far from that apartment block they're sticking everyone in.

I've been getting that type of feeling since arriving here. [He gives a smile to what she says next, but pauses as well.]

Lindholm... [That name sounds familiar and he looks like he's trying to figure out why for a moment.] It's nice to meet you, Brigitte.

What type of rating would you give it on a scale of 1 to 10? [He just doesn't want to be disappointed if its on the lower end.

Is that a strange name on your world?

[She's getting used to everyone she meets and doesn't immediately recognize being from another planet, as strange an idea as that is.

And then, for the important stuff:]

Realistically, like...a 7? 8 if you're feeling generous? They'd be lower if they didn't make apple fritters the size of your face.

It isn't. The name just sounds familiar, but I can't place why. [He knows he's heard it more than a dozen times in his life.]

That's not bad. Definitely worthy of trying out. I don't believe I've ever tried apple fritters before, though. What exactly are they?

Well...my father was in Overwatch? They were pretty famous, back home. If that means anything to you.

[But on to IMPORTANT things.]

A fritter is like...a donut, I guess. But it's not round it's just like a misshapen lump, and it has little bits of apple cut up into it. They're good, though. Especially when the apple bits aren't dried up and gross.

Torbjorn Lindholm? ["Torbjorn" is probably pronounced slightly wrong, but definitely close enough. He's..surprised by this. He know Moira was here from his world, but it appears someone else is too.]

I will have to go and try them some time [Though if they are as large as she's saying, he's in for quite a meal.]

Torbjörn [She corrected, automatically. He was from her world! He was hardly the only one, but still! It's always nice to talk to someone who knows what an omnic is.]

You know about him!

[He can imagine he's not the first person she's had to correct on the pronunciation.]

Of course. He and the rest of Overwatch..they are heroes. They were my inspiration for so long. [There is a reverence in his tone that he might have tried to hide if he knew it was there.]

[There was the tiniest of pauses as Brigitte reflected on her own thoughts on Overwatch as an organization and her problems with it, but decided that now was not the time to share them.]

There were some truly great people in Overwatch. It's a shame what happened to it.

[Given what he learned recently, it was only a matter of time before things came crashing down. And it wasn't at the fault of the people that truly wanted to make a difference.]

It was. [He says with a little shake of his head.] Had you..heard from your Father before coming here?

Of course I have. We both travel a lot but we keep in touch. We were home together last Christmas, even!

[That is good to know. Given what he recently found out about Talon..]

I'm glad to hear that he is still doing well. I haven't heard much about any former members of Overwatch on the news.

Well, Overwatch doesn't exist anymore so most of them are just trying to do their own thing these days.

[Most of them. She still remembers Winston's message. And she still, somehow, wished that she had been able to stop Reinhardt from hearing it.]

They got a decent bakery and sandwich place up on Level 1, near the Academy.

What would you consider decent on a scale of 1 to 10?

[A nice sandwich place is good to know too. Especially if he's looking for a quick bite.]

Hm... I reckon a 7. 'Bout between "passable" and "great."

But I work near there, so it's got a spot in my heart now.

You weren't kidding when you said decent. [ A 7 is about the score he'd give a place that he considered decent. Though it's more so a 'High Decent' with a 'Low Decent' being a 6.]

Since you mentioned the Academy, I take it you work there?

I don't take scales of one-to-ten lightly.

[He's kidding.]

For Lunatia Scientia, yeah. Almost since me and the first batch of people have been here. Don't know if I'll be with them much longer, though. I kinda miss having my own workshop space.

[Baptiste gives a grin.]

You really shouldn't. At least when food is concerned. A day can be made or broken by a good meal.

[He's only partly serious about that.]

You ain't lying. Normally, I'm a home-cookin' kinda man, especially when it comes to barbecue... but you can't beat a good diner with a cook that knows what they're doin'.

I'm from Texas, and there's a little spot on the edge of Bee Cave, just before the road out to Austin, with the best damn steak in the U.S. I'd put that to a bet.

I'm from Haiti myself. I've never had the chance to taste any American styled steak or barbecue. But those that I know that have tried it seem to swear by it.

[Those people are American for the most part, but he's met people from other countries that have sampled it too.]

From how you talk about it, it's not just a meal, it's an experience.

You're damn right it's an experience. I know this is about... what, our second conversation? But if it ain't too forward, I oughta treat you to some real American steak sometime.

About as American as steak from another planet's gonna get, anyhow.

I'm not the type of man to turn down a meal. Especially a free one. [And what better way to become better acquainted with people?] You just name the time and place and I'll be sure to bring the drinks.

I'm sure other people have given you advice so far, but I'd be happy to answer any specific questions. I can give you one answer right off the bat, though... there's this fantastic little stand off PrismaPlace that sells the best cupcakes. It's amazing.

I'd still be willing to hear any you had. More information isn't never a bad thing.

Well, I'm sure you've gotten the rundown on the moons already, correct? I'm Cordis, so if you're in that boat as well, I can give you a tip or two on managing that business. I'm unfortunately not as knowledgeable about the other two, though.

Anyway, they were definitely worthy of recommendation, if you ask me.

I've been able to glean a bit of information about the moons, but nothing in-dept. I believe I'm an Iris? [The moon business just seems really strange to him. He knew some people swore that moons could have an effect on people, but here it seemed absolutely true.]

Anyway, I have a few acquaintances who are Iris, and it seems to involve tentacles and bioluminescence for the most part, but that's probably not it. ...also you might want to find someone you can sort of hang off of for the period since it's generally pretty uncomfortable otherwise.

Though, you might not be having a particularly bad time, since it can range in intensity from month to month.

[Bioluminescence doesn't sound bad. Tentacles on the other hand..he couldn't even start to imagine how that might look, feel or manifest on his body.]

That at least gives me some sort of idea what to expect from being Iris. It seems like it might be prudent to start compiling some sort of list of experiences and accounts from different people to give a fuller understanding of it all. [It'd make it easy for a newbie like him to get info faster too.]

What have you experienced from being Cordis?

That's not a bad idea, thinking about it. Everyone does seem to have different experiences, but there's a general theme across enough of them that people could find use out of it.

Anyway, Cordis seems to result in a lot of hedonism, and I believe the animal features associated with it are those of foxes, cats, and owls. I tend to lean towards foxes, and I also have had to deal with an increased metabolism. On the other hand, I do experience increased agility and pheromones that seem to make me extremely attractive, so... I suppose that's a bonus.

Having something like that documented could only be beneficial. [Perhaps it is something he will work on.]

So there are both benefits and drawbacks to all of this. [The pheromone production could be seen as either, really.] Are you conscious of any mental changes it brings about in you? And if so, are you aware enough to control them?

Yes, it could. With the sort of technology available here, I would imagine that it wouldn’t be terribly difficult to distribute it, either.

And... hmm. I tend to become more aware of them when someone else points them out to me or I catch myself, but I’ve gotten a bit better at managing it as time had gone by. At the very least, I’ve managed not to embarrass myself too much since I got here.
