Hi, everyone. My name's Rebecca.

[ The video opens on a small, homey apartment, filled with plants and books. Rebecca sits at a small piano, a mug of coffee steaming by her side. She looks...tired, really. It's been a difficult few weeks.

But that's no reason not to keep trying. ]

I was just wondering...what's the state of medicine like in your world? I had thought we were on the cutting-edge back home, but with everything I've seen here, you realise just how far we have to go. Considering everything that happens to us so regularly here, it can be really easy to lose track of your health.

I'm a field medic and a chemist, so I'd never call myself a doctor, but I still wanted to extend an offer to everybody: if you need someone to patch you up or do a quick check-up, call me. If you need medicine - over-the-counter stuff, obviously, not anything serious - then I'll run it over or get someone to deliver it to you. Just... [ She gives a weak smile. ] I want to help a little more, and I don't think being okay with a handgun really holds up against everything others can do, you know?

...anyway, I'm rambling. [ She looks down, playing an idle few bars of a melody. ] I've been staying in a lot. Watching old Disney movies, mostly, and I ended up working on this...

[ She adjusts the sheet music and sets her fingers in position. What follows is a nice little rendition with very few errors. Being able to just concentrate on something helps, a lot. Once it's done, she flashes a quick, embarrassed smile at the camera, then leans over and shuts it off. ]

Yeah, in Karakura town. That's in West Tokyo, Japan if any of those places exist in your world.

[herbmixing]

They do! I've never been to Tokyo, but I've always wanted to go.

[ What a weird relief, meeting someone from the same world. Even if it's on the opposite side. ]

I guess you must've picked up a few tricks from him.

You're from a normal world, then! Lemme guess- with a name like Rebecca, you're from America? Or maybe England?

You'd be guessing wrong. I don't exactly like it, but I'm pretty much just in the way.

[herbmixing]

Relatively normal, anyway. You're right - I'm from the Midwest.

[ Nowhere near anywhere cosmopolitan like Tokyo. She's a little envious. Rebecca makes a little sympathetic sound, shaking her head. ]

I'm sure you've got your own talents.

[vizard_did_it]

Yeah, I found my own way to help. You don't need to heal people if you can stop them from getting hurt in the first place.

[herbmixing]

Your own way...you're a fighter, I assume?

[ He looks pretty hench, at least through the video. ]

[vizard_did_it]

Yeah, basically. I can't exactly explain what I do, but it's pretty important. It's kinda funny, I hated it at first but now I know it's exactly where I belong.

[herbmixing]

I know what you mean.

[ In fact, she's still in that 'hate it' phase. But that's not a topic of first-time conversation. ]

People like me need someone to support and heal, so it's all sort of symbiotic, I think. We're all working together towards the same goal of helping people.

I'm pretty sure I've heard that before.

Well, guys like me always end up counting on people like you sooner or later, so before that I guess I should say 'thanks'.

[herbmixing]

Oh really? I guess it's a good sentiment.

You're very welcome-- [ Pause. ] What should I call you, sorry?

Kurosaki Ichigo. Wait, English uses the given name first, right? So that would be Ichigo Kurosaki, I guess.

[herbmixing]

So, Ichigo? Nice to meet you. I won't be as good as your dad, but if you ever need first aid, feel free to look me up.

[ She sets her fingers on the keys, idly tinking out a few bars. ]

Have you been here very long? I don't think I've seen you around before.

[vizard_did_it]

Not unless a month is very long. I guess some people have already been here a year or more.

[herbmixing]

So you are new. It's been a few months for me, almost six.

[ She laughs a little, under her breath. ]

It still feels like I only managed to settle in a week or two ago.
