[ The feed turns on to show a dark-skinned young man with a rain of freckles all over his skin. he looks nervous, unable to keep eye contact with the camera for more than a few minutes at time. ]

Um, I... um... I was wondering? Is there a library like the one on one of the moons down here in Lunatia? Or... uh... a library at all? I haven't really been able to find one.

[ His voice is soft, the accent a strange mix of german and french. A white ferret lies around his shoulders, peering at the camera with intelligent black eyes as the young man tries to explain himself. ]

There were... books with spells and things. Some very strange automatons, too, but I could really do without those. Magic in this place... it's really interesting.

[ The more he speaks, the less hesitant it gets, as he gets into the things that interests him. ]

My world... doesn't really have this technology stuff so it's... it's a big difference. Since I don't really have anything to compare that to, I'm more interested in the magic. The prismals said something about it being the same, though, but I don't really understand how.

[ Connie catches himself rambling and looks a bit sheepish. ]

S-sorry, I'll make my point. Is there a library down here? If there isn't, is there any other place to find... um... I don't know... comparisons? I don't know. I'm just curious.

Sorry if I'm taking up your time!

Yes there is a library and there is a book store as well, but for more academic pursuits you would be better off perusing the library.

Ah well, it makes sense, the library is more like a collection of books in within The Lunar Scientia halls of government.

Yes, it didn't occur to me at first either, but then I saw a pack of academics running around with books and realized those books must have come from somewhere.

Any particular interest in magic? Or are you just trying to understand the goings on of this place?

Just a curiosity of mine, I'm a mage you see so my interest in magic is innate.

[He's already mastered magic from his own world and he has a pretty good grasp on his new abilities here.]

That's a reasonable attitude, fortunately, the gifts they bestow upon us are...quite benign.

Ah, I understand what you mean, we call them Skill Trees, each skill resides on a different branch of magic. I operate within three branches: primal, spirit, and necromancy. For the record, we also have magical academies, we call them Circles. In the north they are places of learning...in the south, they are something else entirely.

And don't be sorry, it's important to be curious, I like a curious mind. As for how your magic affects the magic here well...it's a good question, isn't it? I've only noticed that the magic that I use is stronger than the blessings they give us here.

It's quite visual as well, probably why we compare magical schools to trees. I suspect the way we use necromancy in my world is probably different from what most people think it is in their world, the conclusion is that I raise the dead which isn't the case. Primal magic is elemental magic and spirit magic are more passives like barriers.

[His world isn't an overall accepting place where magic is concerned.]

It's true I don't consider them spells personally, I'm not certain what I'd qualify these as other than gifts, a talent granted to us by these Moonblessings.

There is! I like the one near the academy.
My world has no magic - it's all fictional fun stuff - but a lot of tech.
So you've got the advantage of magic at least!

[ Sure, he can switch over -- he did it for years, after all, for the codec system. And also doing presentations for the NGO and work and such. He just prefers to have a text-only existence on PrismaNet. It's an older man, who looks tired from years of stress. ]

Yep! I use it all the time. I program and build machines professionally. This is my form of magic!

[ He waves back, the lines around his eyes from age and stress creasing as he smiles. ]

I do! And for fun. I made stealth camouflage as a side project... I'm that kinda guy.

That's right. It worked pretty good when I needed it! Nowadays I do all kinds of stuff. My specialty is the big machines, though. Robots.

They come in all sizes! Have you seen the little circular cleaning ones here? That's an example. Some are the size of a person, or larger. Some aren't humanoid at all - just an arm or something like that to do a task. The one I'm most... uh, famous for making is a giant walking tank.
codecmoment: (I'll take this potato chip)

[personal profile] codecmoment 2019-06-19 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Here, they likely are. Back home, they're electrical.

But... uh... n-no, a tank is an armored war machine.

Being too stupid and naive about the reality of the world. That's why.

Comparisons of what, exactly? Of magic between your world and here?

Because from my own experience their library has books covering pretty run of the mill topics as far as their magic here seems to go, with no references to much pertaining to outside planets or worlds. Either they don't do much research beyond Lunatia and the moons or it's just not available to the public.
inabluemoon: (Hmph...)

I don't know what you need, but if you think it is that's the extent of what I've managed to find. Hopefully I can change that eventually though.

Neither. There's just information I want myself, so it's in my own interest to get access to more things that could give me that.
inabluemoon: (Convince me!)

[personal profile] inabluemoon 2019-07-04 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course it does~

Well either way, if you happen to find anything hidden or interesting I'd like to know. We can come up with some exchange to make it worth your time.

Likewise. And thank you, that would be extremely useful.
