My roommate since I arrived in Lunatia one year ago, Lobco, has gone home. The apartment is terribly quiet without her, even though she was never the loud type. Strange how that happens.

Will you remember what has transpired here when you return? Do you wish to remember?

Losing people always sucks.

And - as someone who has experience going home, albeit temporarily, none of my memories of this place were kept. But... If I were to have a choice, I would want to remember.

Sometimes you just need a distraction, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

After all, people do need some space to give things some thought - people disappear from this world every now and again, after all. It's not an uncommon thing, unfortunately.

Not really.

But my birthday falls at the end of the month, so I can't exactly look forward to it when I'm worried about what the next shitshow is.

Perhaps you could celebrate it ahead of time? It seems a shame to miss out on the festivity entirely.

How old will you be turning, may I ask?

I'd be nineteen this year, actually. It's kind of crazy, if I'm going to be honest, that I'd have two birthdays in this world.

Congratulations. That is still fairly young for humans, if I am not mistaken?

It is, yeah.

Back home, I'd still be considered a child for at least another year.

[She's not sure how she feels about potentially staying here for another year, though.]
