Hi, ah.

[ Awkward fingergun for you, network. ]

Quick question, the reason for it will sound obvious given recent events. [ ie: that giantass flood that ruined everyone's homes. ] Does anybody here own any of the ships docked in the port about a ten minute walk above the Crystal Beach? Specifically, the large galleon. I know a few are owned by companies and the other dock is strictly for Lunar Knights, but I'm looking to make a purchase or strike a deal for that ship in particular.

[ The spike in Fjord's energy is infectious, Caduceus can't help but smile and join in the rambunctiousness in his tone. ]

Sure, I'm into it. I'm already at the bottom. I forgot what floor we were staying on.

[ Shhh it's not important that he's been down on the ground floor for hours now! He's been content enough, it's totally not a big deal. ]

[ He barks out a laugh when Caduceus swears. ]

I'll be right down!

[ He's fallen into the habit of wearing his armour and cloak with high boots since the flood, uncertain whether shit will go down again in a hurry. Fjord joins Caduceus with a broad smile. ]

You should have called me over the comms if you forgot the floor number.

[ You're a bad influence on him, Fjord. ]

I'll eh, I'll just be here at the bottom.

[ Yea, he's not the only one. Caduceus had his breastplate on too, his Blightstaff in hand and in fact, his beetles are busy fluttering around, chirping little songs. ]

Nah, it's all good. People have been really nice to me. I hold the door open and they say thank you and all sorts.

[ Come on, cowman, have a hand up. ]

That's all well and good but promise me that you won't spend the nights down here alone.

[ That's too worrying to think about. ]

[ He's actually been considering making a little den down here. Maybe that's a bad idea? ]

I mean, I'd considered making a den of some sorts but I'd much rather be up with you and the others.

[ It's nice to know he's worried about but at the same time he doesn't want to worry Fjord. ]

[ Sighing, he offers Caduceus his arm so they can walk out together. Just to stay close in the crowds, obviously. ]

After the flood I'd rather we all stuck close together, even if we don't have Caleb and his bubblehut.

[ Oh, obviously! And Caduceus gladly takes that arm, doubled down and using his staff in his other hand as a walking aid. ]

I'd like that. We could maybe make a Crystle hut of some kind if we really wanted to.

[ He smiled then and does a little fond sigh. ]

I miss Mister Caleb and the others.

I wonder if there's a Paladin spell for keeping people safe in a certain area ...

[ Probably not with his luck. He squeezes Caduceus's hand in his arm as they walk into the sunshine-y streets. ]

I miss them too. Is it terrible that I hope they all
come here so we can share this with them?

Y'Know, I don't believe there is, unfortunately. But that's okay, we've got each other at least.

[ His brows raise a little as his hand is squeezed, letting a soft smile pull at his lips. ]

It's not terrible, no. I'd like them to be here too. I think they'd really like it. Then again, I think Jester and Yasha would struggle without the Traveler and Storm Lord.

[ He knows he struggled when he found out he couldn't Commune with Melora. ]

[ That makes him think along the same lines, eyeing up at Caduceus. ]

And how are you coping, cut off from the Wildmother?

[ He thought that question would be coming. Smiling as he feels Fjord's eyes looking up at him. ]

Ah, I'm swell. I've got you here, haven't I?

[ Pulling Fjord in and tipping his head aside so he can bop the side of it off his friends. ]

You're the next best thing to the real thing.

[ There is a hint of sorrow in his voice though, even when he tries to hide it. ]

[ He picks up on that sad lilt and ends up pouting, cheeks heating up. ]

Even if I can't Commune, I wish you could.

Ah, it's fine. Don't worry, I'm not going to go all doom and gloom on you again.

[ He uses Thaumaturgy to make his eye turn black, pausing for a long moment..... Then red, then white, then yellow, his grin growing all the while. ]

She knows we're still talking to her, thinking about her. I'm sure of it, it's just hard sometimes.

[ !! Putting a hand over Caduceus's eyes while they do their weird rave dance. ]

I miss seeing her in my dreams, those were always comforting.

[ Okay, okay, he'll stop! Laughing as his eyes are covered, long eyelashes blinking against Fjord's palm. ]

I mean, I dream of her. All the time but I know it's not actually her there. I try to feel her, when the wind changes or I see something growing where nothing else can. I like to think she's trying to reach us too, Y'know?

[ Pink menace. He tugs a little on that pastel beard before letting his face go free. ]

I think she's still trying to reach us too, otherwise we'd never have any powers at all. Plus, I know what it feels like to be abandoned by your ... patron. [ With certainty, ] This isn't it.

[ Hey! No tugging! His chin stoops down as his beard is tugged at, closing his eyes and smiling kindly. ]

I remember too. We shared a room a lot back then, Fjord. You were always trying to bamf your Falchion out when you thought I was asleep. Coughing and spluttering up seawater and sneaking off to panic on your own.

[ He squeeze Fjord's hand a little, kindness and warmth in his touch. ]

[ Wow, rude! But accurate. ]

I didn't ... I mean, I wasn't always ... sneaking.

[ Squeezing that hand back, he's reminded of how often Caduceus was there for him during those darker times. ]

[ He meant no offence, just blunt honesty. ]

No, not always but most of the time.

[ Caduceus lets out a pleasant sigh, he's so proud of Fjord, of what's he's overcome to be the man he was today. ]

It's nice having a Patron that's kind, isn't it? I mean, it must be compared to Uk'otoaa.

[ If you listen carefully, the word is repeated, faint and on the wind ... Uk'otoa~ Uk'otoa~ ]

[ Get lost, sneasnake on the wind!! ]

Definitely, yes. I never really chose Uk'otoa, he was simply the only option I had at the time, back when I wanted power for the sake of it.

Well, look at all the power you have now?

[ Caduceus didn't know how he was able to do it, keep some of his Eldrich magic as well as harnessing the Melora's power. It was far more impressive than anything the firbolg was capable of. In his eyes anyways.

He pulls Fjord closer to his side as they walked, meaning to hold him a bit tighter as he spoke. ]

You eh, you don't still dream of him, do you?

[ Dream of Uk'otoa? Hmm. The question distracts him from being pulled in a little closer as they walk. ]

When I first got here, my initial Sanguis ... I was covered in scales and tried to shred them off with the bigger claws I got. I looked like ... some kind of fish-man. It was horrible. Webbed hands ...

[ He shakes his head, hazarding a smile. ]

That was the only time I felt like he was around, never since.

[ Caduceus nodded as he listened. There were some hard times Fjord had gone through a little while back, what with that Eye orb and all... ]

A fish-man? Yikes, I can't imagine that was any fun.

You still have scars?

[ His faint smile is returned back at him, Caduceus trying his best to just ooze as much calming energy and healing vibes as he could, as they walked. ]

The scars only show up during the Sanguis moon, like they're part of the scales. All down my body and arms.

[ He shows him his free arm, despite it being clothed, to indicate where the scars would be.]

They always disappear.
