[ The video starts simple, showing Sousuke sitting in a chair in his living room holding a guitar in his lap. He seems a little nervous and awkward about holding it. His hand fiddles along the neck, fingers pressing down against the strings. If you're familiar with guitar, or really anyone really, you'll notice that he's just pressing down on the strings with no rhyme nor reason. Not playing any chords or even what could be any sort of song. Just pressing down on the strings as a way to keep his hands busy.

Sousuke takes a deep breath before he speaks. ]

So… I decided to treat myself a bit? I probably should have thought this out before I bought it but uh…

Is anyone out there giving guitar lessons? Or know where I can take some?

Hah, I did the same thing when I got mine, but I ended up just teaching myself. I can help ya out, though? Wouldn’t be my first time showing someone the basics!

I think plenty of people like... they like the idea of owning one, but not as many will put the time in. Pretty sure I woulda done that myself but then I'd moved and was pretty lonely. Music made it better, y'know?

I can't blame you. When I bought my first guitar, I'd only ever messed around with my uncle's. It's too tempting to have one of your own, isn't it?

[Sougo laughs under his breath just a little, gesturing to his two electric guitars mounted on the wall behind him.]

I don't know much about acoustics, and I'm probably not qualified to give any real lessons. But if you'd like, I can send a few resources and chord books your way. Learning a few basic chords will put you on the right track, and you can do that even without proper lessons.

In any case, pressing down on the strings like you're doing now is actually a good first step. Acoustics have thicker strings, so you'll build up calluses more quickly. After practicing regularly for a while, you'll be able to play without your fingers feeling sore.

Yeah, it was tempting enough that I just bit the bullet.

Nice guitars, I'll probably want to get an electric one next. But I'll take whatever you want to send me. I'm literally starting from the bottom here.

[ sousuke looks at his hand and lets out a small laugh ] Lots of practice? I think I can do that.

You should look for a proper guitar teacher instead of a quick, 'teach me how to play one song' thing. From the sound of it, you can't hold even pick right.
