This may be a strange request, but we're all from different worlds so it may not be that strange after all. A friend is helping me with something, and I'm wondering if more minds to it could give her a hand. [Ha. Get it?]

She's working on developing and building me a new arm. Nothing fancy or flashy, but it'd be nice if it could have feeling.

If I can help with anything in return, I'll be happy to return the favor within reason.

I've never had to. [Does Altean alchemy count as magic?] I know there's magic here, but I haven't researched it much.

There's magic in my world called conjury. It's meant to heal and restore. I could give it a try and see if it can work on you and give you the needed feeling with a new limb. You'd still need your prosthetic first, though. I wouldn't want to try it before that.

... you don't have to answer if it's painful to talk about, but knowing how you lost your arm would help me in figuring it out too.

That aside, that magic sounds pretty amazing.

That's why I said you don't have to talk about it. But at least tell me if it was a blade or a firearm that did it. Or if it was surgically done.

There's some damage that will need a specific kind of attention to it, to be clear. If it was done surgically, there's a better chance of restoring your sensation.

But as I said, only when you have a limb arranged. I don't want you to have a phantom arm, for one.

It's hard to say. But it was probably surgic

Another long story, but I was a pilot. And then I was a leader of a team in a war.

Are you from Japan too? Your name sounds like the names people use in Hingashi on my world! I was told names like that are similar to names from Japan on Earth!

I'm not from Japan, but my grandparents were. I'm from the United States.

But some of your world's language sounds like ours?

I know of the United States! That's America's name! [ ??? ] Hingan is like Japanese- well, old Hingan, at least! When I spoke it, my friends from Japan said it sounded like it!

It's written very differently though. Isn't that amazing? We can almost speak the same tongue, but it looks so different!

It is pretty amazing. I thought something similar when I went into space for the first time and everyone was speaking a similar language as we were.

You've been to space... what's it like? How far did you go? Did the stars change around you? This is the furthest I've ever been from a sky I don't recognize and I've been picked from home twice!

It's vast. We ended up on the edge fringes of our universe. And the stars did change around us.

It sounds like this is quite an adventure for you though.

Not everyone. Some aliens we met were almost identical looking to us, some were... Nowhere close.

Was it normal for people from your earth to go to space, though? I've only heard stories of dragons from beyond the stars...

Do you have friends from your world here, then?

Humans from my world didn't go very far in space. IT's part of that long story.

I do. My team that I led is here with me.

I'm almost jealous. I wish my tribe was with me. This place is a lot better than that horrible one I was in last.

Have you been able to get any help from others yet, though? I'm sure there are plenty of folks here who may be far better at this than me and more used to the technology you're used to.

I've just worked with prosthetics thrice before. Think I could look at your arm as it is now though?

Two of my teammates are tech geniuses who are used to this sort of thing. I thought I'd ask for someone who could work with the nervous system to help them. And sure. I wouldn't mind.
