[In a particularly childish move, Joseph tugs the hooker corner of the blanket over his head, leaving only a tuft of white hair visible.]

[ Yashiro groans. ]

[ He doesn't pull him out from under the covers, but he does start reading out loud from page one. once upon a time, bitch. ]

[But he trails off as Yashiro begins to read, his eyes brightening a little under the cover-perhaps Yashiro will see him shift and still a little, listening to identify the words.]

[ french fairy tales are whats on the docket today -- La Belle et la Bête. But he's only reading one fairy tale ok!! he's not staying all day. ]

[Hmmm.
He listens silently, and then rolls over, head tilted up slightly to watch Yashiro read. The familiar words calm him, and even with the translation he knows which edition Yashiro had, without even needing to look at the cover.]

I was not aware that you liked fairy tales.

[ and after all, this is for joseph. that's why he's staying. ]

[He makes the smallest noise of surprise, pausing to examine him, and then shifting closer, until he’s against Yashiro’s arm. That’s...surprisingly soft of a rough man like Yashiro.]

[ He'd thought about being an actor, when he was younger. It's nice to think he can at least read well.

[Joseph falls silent to listen, his head pillowed against Yashiro's side, letting himself get caught up in the familiar, comforting tale]

[ Yashiro reads until the end of the story, and then he closes it and checks on joseph. is he still awake? ]

[He'd tried to stay awake, because he'd wanted to talk after, to nag him, to keep him around...but Yashiro's voice is nice, and the familiar story has lulled him with its beats. His head has slipped down against Yashiro's hips, his wings wrapped around himself like a cloak, and...yes, he is fast asleep.]

[ Soft....joseph is cute like this, actually. Funny, how he could be such a terror awake but so cute asleep. Yashiro is careful not to jostle him as he gets up, cradling his head and then slipping a pillow underneath it once he gets out of bed.

From there, it's putting the book back and gathering his clothes and toys, but he's quiet while he works, letting Joseph get some much needed sleep after all that fucking. He even places a glass of water on the nightstand for him! Thoughtful. ]
