[There's a sharp shuffling noise as the camera turns on and the mic is buffeted, sharp black paws adjusting the frame and making sure it's stable. The poster's face isn't visible yet, turned down as it is, at the keys of a piano.
When he sits down at the bench, he finally comes into view. Those who know him might not recognize the face, transformed by the exalted Cordis as it is, but they'd recognize the voice. Phil is a soot-black fox with (strangely enough) his usual shock-white hairstyle on top, elegant golden markings all over. All of them seem to resemble weather symbols, from snowflakes to air front maps. He waves. Like any good news presenter, his air in front of the camera is poised, fluid, and confident.]
Hey, folks. Phil Connors here. Two things real quick: I finally got a job at one of the local stations! It's Channel 2, I'll be live for the morning weather forecast on the weekdays. Don't be surprised when you see my handsome mug. [Wink.]
Two, I've been working on a lot of music--sorry to anybody who lives in the same building as me. It's for a good cause. From the 16th through to the 18th, I'll be playing at a number of restaurants and clubs throughout Level 1 and Level 2 of Lunatia. Not too many, but some. There's a text file attached to this post with a list.
[He turns to the keyboard, stretches his shoulders, and rolls his neck.] That's all. If you want a taste of what I'll be playing, feel free to stick around.
[He lays his hands on the keyboard, and starts to play. It's a peaceful sort of jazz sound, one of smoky, rainy nights outside a bar in the city; the sound swells and flows, no excitement but plenty of intrigue, and, well... Phil is skilled, to be sure. Who knew?
When the song stops and his hands drift off of the keys, he grins towards the camera with all the easy confidence in the world.] Thanks for watching.
((ooc: embarrassingly, belateldy, i realize i should have linked the log post here oops))

I'll be sure to watch your weather forecast, and to come hear you play!

I look forward to seeing you there! Don't be afraid to say hello when the band takes a break.
no subject
Will you be part of an ensemble, then? For that matter, will I recognize you once the new moons come?
no subject
Ah. Forgive me, Mister Alexius.
Mm. It depends on the place; in most of these I'll be part of a band, but in others--mostly the high end restaurants in the list--I'm playing solo. You might not recognize me when the moons pass, but I should look the same then as I do now with Cordis in the sky, so don't worry.

What sort of music is that?
no subject
Jazz. It’s one of my favorite kinds. Have you got it where you come from?

[He pauses for a moment in thought.] Well, if it's the late nineteenth century, jazz should come soon enough; it was very popular in the early twentieth. Most of what I know is from the middle of the century, though. Fifties and sixties.

[She even gives a little cheerful applause for the small performance.]
I've never heard music like that before but I think I'm already in love with it!

I'll be playing more of this sort during the Triple Moon, if you're so inclined to come, but even after that I'm sure there are record shops in Lunatia that carry this sort of thing. Have you really never heard jazz before?

I'm sure you could search on the internet here and find some similar songs, but nothing beats a live performance. [Wink.]

[Tyria is something else.]
I really did enjoy your performance. Are you planning on doing anything themed for the holiday? Some spooky jazz, maybe?
no subject
[He snorts.] I'm not sure spooky jazz is a thing. Even if it was... probably not. Music's not really my main gig.
