[He's trying to be as stealthy about this as possible on the chance Henry will see this and start questioning it. Jacob is pretty sure that he hasn't talked TOO much about Edward's ship that the connection will be obvious]
I was wondering if there's anyone out there who can teach me how to play an instrument. Something I can carry around is ideal but I do know a bit about the piano already.
I know how to read music already so we can skip that bit of the lesson.
Thanks.

But I want to learn the instrument for something in particular.
And I don't want to take months to do it.

Just one song for my partner.

What sort of song is it?

Haven't decided. My partner speaks French so I thought he would like it if I sang something in that language.
While playing the instrument.
Like a serenade.

I've never heard that language before but I'm sure he'll be touched that you're trying to connect with him like that.
If you've talked to someone else who feels confident they can teach you that quickly, they'll probably be better for the job since I've never taught music before.
[She was a mentor in the Order of Whispers but that has absolutely nothing to do with playing violin.]
I am curious to see how it goes, though! And I'm willing to offer any advice I can manage.

u can get by with just a few chords
defs the way to go if ur in a hurry to learn

no subject
like how long it is or how complex
if u wanna focus on just one song tho then you can skip the theory
and since u know how to play piano u should at least have no trouble keeping up the tempo
so maybe like 2-3 weeks, if u practice every day
working up the calluses is the hardest part
it hurts when ur a beginner
no subject
So three weeks?
That's all?
That I can do
I'll get a guitar so I can start
no subject
with rhythm guitar, u just strum and hold
easy
it's kind of just learning how to hold and working up the muscle memory to avoid looking stupid
lol guess i'm teaching u now
a cheap guitar is easy to get
do u have a song in mind?
no subject
I have a song
Sort of
It's a surprise for someone
no subject
i can pick it up by ear if u don't have the chords
so just bring ur guitar and ill teach u
lessons won't be free tho
gonna have to ask for like a small chroma fee
or demichroma whatever
no subject
Need to get a guitar first
Where do I get one?
You mean like we hold hands for a bit
Or how do you want the Chroma
no subject
prisma place has everything
i got mine at a hole in the wall on level 2
don't worry about getting a fancy one
no point in buying a good acoustic guitar if ur just learning
buy whichever one u like then upgrade if u get into it
but yeah holding hands is fine
u'll need to practice every day tho
just a fair warning
i've never taught anybody before
no subject
Yeah all right
That's fair
no subject
do u need an address?
here, this is where i got mine
[ He attaches a location to a store in Level 2, which is called... lets go with Reverb Center. It's a fairly large chain of stores, which means their stuff ranges from cheap to high end, with almost no in between. ]
cool
bring the song and text me tomorrow when u have a guitar
actually they have some rooms we could prolly use to practice
so let's meet there
2pm work for u?
no subject
I'll see you then
With a guitar
no subject
see u then
