In my world, there is a holiday meant to celebrate the eerie known as Halloween. There is a history behind it that I am willing to indulge to those who do not come from Earth and thus have never heard of it.

Some of you may wish to get into the spirit through more than simply looking at some decorations or going to haunted houses and want to truly be frightened this season. So allow me to make an offer.

[He holds up a vial of orange liquid.]

This is a special chemical that will cause you to see your greatest fear come to life. The visions will seem real, but my tests have shown that it does not cause lasting physical or psychological damage.

Hm, you know, could always use such data. I've never used my toxin on a god.

[He says the word 'god' with a certain amount of dry snark. He's ever the atheist.]

[That's okay, Loki isn't interested in turning Crane into a worshiper.]

Ah, but what would said God get in return?

[He inquires, tauntingly.]

Usually I would offer twenty dollars to be part of my experiments. But does Loki actually need money?

[He taps his glove with the needles.]

Name your price.

[mischiefandice]

He does not. [Loki confirms, grinning. Especially in this realm, where money is meaningless.]

You will owe me. A favour of my choosing, to be redeemed whenever I see fit.

[A dangerous bargain to enter with Loki but then again, what Crane was proposing was likely not going to be much fun.]

[doctor_terror]

[Crane mulls this over. He's read his Norse mythology and knows that making deals with Loki should be done with caution. He could ask Crane to do something he's not going to enjoy.

But, this is an opportunity to gain valuable data and test his toxin on someone who isn't human. He's a man of science, and science isn't always pretty.]

Very well. One favor of your choosing.

[mischiefandice]

Excellent.

[The grin that Loki gives Crane is very toothy, and entirely too wide to hold any warmth.]

When are we to hold this experiment?

Whenever is convenient for you, oh God of Mischief.

[Big mistake or not, it's for science.]

[mischiefandice]

[Humming, Loki stands up, smoothing down his silk tunic. He'll be showing up soon enough, he has nothing planned for the evening.]

Where might you be found, oh great Scarecrow?

I have rented out a laboratory. Here is the address.

[He texts it to Loki.]

The laboratory is appropriately creepy-looking from the outside, Loki thinks as he gets to the address Crane gave him. He doesn't bother knocking, finding his way inside the building, looking at everything curiously.

The inside is also rather creepy. Crane has a few test tubes and vials on a table, bubbling with orange liquid, along with a chalk board covered in chemical formulas. There's also a glass wall looking into a currently empty room, no doubt so he can lock anyone in there and watch them squirm. There's also a few chairs, including one with straps to it.

Crane is absorbed in a notebook before looking up, "Ah, Loki. I didn't hear you come in. Please, have a seat."

[mischiefandice]

It makes for an unsettling background but then again, Loki didn't expect anything else. He's not worried exactly, more curious to see if this will even work than concerned it might be a truly terrifying experience. He's not letting Crane strap him to anything, still. If he starts raging and destroying the lab in his fear, Crane can deal with it.

Crane's polite greeting makes him smirk but he complies, elegantly folding into one of Crane's rickety chairs. "So," he prompts, sounding amused.

"So," Crane walks up to Loki, standing over him and regarding the Asgardian. If Loki truly is an otherworldly being, this will be an interesting experience. He's had very few opportunities to test his toxin on a near-human species.

"Would you prefer a spray or an injection?"

[mischiefandice]

"Spray, I believe," Loki answers, leaning against Crane's rickety table nonchalantly. He's not letting this man anywhere close to him with a needle.

"Are we getting right down to it, then? No chit-chat beforehand?" he teases, amused.

[doctor_terror]

"Very well," Crane fiddles with his gauntlet, making sure the mechanism works, before he connects a tube in the glove with a canister of toxin. "What is there to chit-chat about?" Pointing the glove away from Loki, he gives a brief test spray, then watches the green mist dissolve in the air.

[mischiefandice]

"The weather?" Loki offers, still looking amused though his eyes follow the green mist attentively. "It made for a riveting conversation last time, didn't it?"

He squares his shoulders, stepping closer. "What should I expect, then?"

"Watch out Joker, we have a funny man here." Crane quips with dry snark. "You should see hallucinations right after I spray you, and in my tests, most visions only last a few minutes before the toxin wears off." Which is almost disappointingly fast, but beggers can't be choosers.
