001 POINTS | video | joint post with

[ The video post flickers on to show two people, both looking rather different in demeanor. The taller of the two looks to have a scowl on his face, and eyes and hair a matching deep green. He’s not happy to be here, he doesn’t even feel comfortable leaving the apartment. Which is why he’s here with the shorter of the two boys.
It would’ve been hard to tell that the scruffy, blue-haired boy is the older of the two, but that’s probably part of his charm and it shows in how he addresses the network with a bright smile and a wave of his hand, as if he were a natural at this. ]
--Oh, I think we’re on! Hello, Lunatia! We’d like to introduce ourselves first of all: My name is Aoba Tsumugi, and this kind lad over here is my roommate! Ah, you should say hello too, Midorima-kun!
[ He gestures at the screen as smoothly as he could.
Midorima’s brows furrow before he’s even finished talking, looking mildly annoyed. What he’s annoyed about becomes apparent within only a few seconds as he doesn’t say hello and instead focuses in on correcting what he thinks was wrong with that sentence. ]
Who’s a “kind lad”? Focus on the task at hand.
[ Apparently, that’s all the greeting he’s bothering with. Tsumugi can only sigh a little before facing the screen again, smile still intact. ]
This is Midorima Shintarou, by the way. Seriously, kids these days… Um, but before I go off track, the reason why we’ve put this up is because we have one thing in common, and that is horoscopes. Luck, in general. Do you know there are apps here that tells you your daily fortune and what lucky item to bring around with you to ward off bad luck? Technology’s so amazing! Even though we’re from different worlds, it’s nice to know that there are other people who believe in them -- and that is why we are here today.
[ Midorima’s worried that Tsumugi’s going to go on for too long, so he chimes in with a much more direct demand of their audience over the network. ]
Respond with your astrological sign or birthday if you aren’t sure. We’re also looking to know what items are considered lucky in other worlds that may be incorporated into an apartment.
Y-You can just ask nicely them, you know! People wouldn’t know how to respond if you’re being demanding like that... [ why are tsunderes the way they are, man ] Anyway, it’d be very helpful for us to know everyone’s signs and birthdays to balance out of luck if it ever goes bad for a day so that we can stick with those people for a while… I’m a Leo and he’s a Cancer, if that helps.
Also! If anyone knows other forms of divination such as palmistry and tarot, that’d be greatly appreciated as well… I’m honestly more comfortable consulting with someone privately about my fortunes rather than rely on technology all the time, so let me know if it’s all right to approach you for regular sessions! I’ll pay with Chroma if I have to.
[ Midorima just decides to move on and end the video. He’s not going to give Tsumugi the chance to say goodbye. ]
We’re done.
[ And the video cuts out. ]

[ 12th place... it's the worst. ]

[She's wondering now if she has anything for someone superstitious. Jade? Red envelop?]

What happened to your fingers?!
[IS THIS THE RESULT OF HIS BAD LUCK?!]
no subject
[ These are extremely valuable fingers, Sen. ]

[ No hesitation there. He knows it's a Fact. ]
no subject
That's very impressive! I'm no good with basketball, but I do watch from time to time, so I hope I get to see you play! [Where is Japan, look at this, brother!] I understand now why you must protect your fingers. And you involve luck with this too?
no subject
I am a man who does everything he can. That includes compensating for luck. I've been getting settled here so I haven't had a chance to see if there is a decent basketball league yet.
[ If so, he will become their Ace-sama in like. Two seconds flat. ]
no subject
Hard work always pay off, no? Very good. [She looks impressed.] This world seems to have a lot of activities that come from others, so I believe basketball would be one. I can help look for it as well. Sporting events are often described as, how to say, a religion. It could be inspirational for one of Japan's best to join.
[MIDORIMA STILL BE HUMBLE.]
no subject
I've seen it have the opposite effect as well. The term "Generation of Miracles" goes hand-in-hand with "monsters." But if they have a court, I'll be there.
[ What is humility, can you get luck out of it? ]
no subject
"Generation of Miracles" sound inspirational. Are you a monster on the court, because of your rivals? But what of those who watch you? If you are as good as you claim, then those who are considered the best instill hope into those who watch you play.
[She knows the losing side may not ever feel that. To be defeated by a monster. But she has been an underdog before, and she knows that there are always someone stronger. Then it's all about rally around to defeat them.
On the other hand, there is something akin to pure magic when you watch someone strong. It's why she follows association football so closely as well. World Cup is where it's at (don't tell him that).]
In order to relax during the moon phase, once, I ended up at a pool in a sporting centre. Perhaps that is where one should first start.

[ It's a vague answer, but Midorima has learned to appreciate the support of his team and his supporters. They're just about the only people he'll bow deeply to. Ootsubo had said something like that to him before- that while he doesn't do inspirational dunks like some players, his three-pointers can serve the same purpose for them. He understands the value of that. But he also understands that there's a reason they all have to be on separate teams, because together they can't grow-- none can stand against them together, so they can't grow individually. ]
Show me where it is.

[She understands perfectly, he didn't have to say more. Not that she knew that he would do a lot more, and that actions would speak louder than words.
Either way, the camera shakes a tiny bit because she's getting up.]
Would you like to meet somewhere?
no subject
We're in our apartment, so anywhere near the residential district is acceptable.
[ But he's not traveling too far out of the way on account of. Well. He's new, he still isn't super familiar with anything yet.. ]
no subject
I can meet you at your apartment, and lead you there. If you're new, I can show you around a little on the way.
[Midorima use your own legs.]
no subject
No, you won't. I'm not giving a stranger my address. Choose a public location.
no subject
Also, did he just stranger-danger her. It's strangely cute considering he's so grumpy about it.]
Very well, public location. If you're at the residential area. [Which everyone usually starts at.] What about the very start of that street? The sports centre I was at was is on Level 2.
no subject
I'll meet you there in fifteen minutes. What's your name?
[ So he can write a note that says who murdered him if he disappears. ]
no subject
Very good, I will see you soon. And my name is Vietnam, or Sen, I am an acquaintance of Aoba Tsumugi.
[See, she can't kill his room mate! Even if she's able to break him into two.]
no subject
What's your family name?
[ He's not calling her by her first name. ]
no subject
Oh! I remember now, you go by surname. In Vietnam, we do not go by surname, because of the frequency of surnames where most are Nguyễn. It is either first name or full name, so you can call me either Sen, or Sen Linh Đoàn. Or Đoàn Linh Sen if you wish to follow exact order.
[She is going to feel seriously weird if he calls her by surname.]
no subject
[ GUESS WHAT HE DOESNT CARE WHAT YOUR RULES ARE. NO HONORIFICS, LAST NAME ONLY. ]
no subject
[THIS IS GOING TO TAKE FOREVER. She's going to find him and school him.
In about 15 minutes.
So she's there now.
TO SCHOOL HIM.]
no subject
He's on time as stated, looking like he's never smiled a day in his life. He approaches her and says: ]
Đoàn.
