This is certainly a lot less awkward than me saying you un-aged I guess.

[ nah, this totally isn't weird, not at all. this is totally normal, dad is suddenly like what? more than ten years younger? ]

Listen, I'm gonna be upfront and say this is probably the weirdest thing I've run into so far. Like sure, I was somewhat okay with the priest and our timelines being off by however long.

But last time I saw you was the first time in a long time and it wasn't the most ideal of situations. But I guess a part of me is kind of relieved to see you again, even if I don't know how to handle it.

( Hes not exactly surprised that the last time they met, by her point of view, wasn't ideal.

Being a dad is weird.

And now seeing her jump up in age in such an odd place, so far from home, is even weirder. )

It would be a lot to fill me in on, I gather. How old are you exactly?

It might be something you don't want to talk about in an open situation honestly, there was a lot of stuff going on. I can tell you that I was given something you said that I would only need in an emergency situation and it was probably a good thing even if I didn't understand at first.

You've never been big on details afterall. But that's something else I understood as well.

[ oh hey, this is something isn't it? a blink before she brings a hand behind her head ]

Nineteen. The last time I saw you before that was probably about six years, but even then I didn't remember you looking this young. So I'm guessing it's been longer since that incident.

But ... well. Not impossible, evidently. He doesn't say anything for a moment, doesn't even nod in acknowledgement. )

Yeah, sure, meeting in person is best after all.

How about we meet up on the beach in 15 minutes, I know you prefer the scenery and there’s plenty of open space to speak comfortably.

I guess we’re similar in that regard. I haven’t seen too much of the wildlife, admittedly.

They're unusual for me as well. I'm very interested in those; do you know where they can be found?

Guess you missed 'em, then. They were here in the city, for a bit. Otherwise they're usually up in them mountains over there.

A lot of us have, sure. Took a plane up there to take the 'lil dragons back.

I come from a normal version of Earth, so it's quite different, to say the least. Less animal traits in the people, less gators to worry about. I've seen land-born sharks, however. That was interesting.

Even if he wants to reach through the screen and choke the life out of him. Even if he wants to punch a hole through his chest the same way one was created in his back in the 80s. Sometimes you just have to keep playing the long game and play nice with the man who took your life away, y'know? Sometimes you have to try and remember the sort of plankton present in Floridian swamps.]

Land-born? Where can those be found.

Lyestellus Kingdom. Full of people who can turn into dragons, and not in the same way we can turn into part-animal folk. I wouldn't advise going there alone, what with it being out in the mountains and there being a lot of uncharted territory in between, but if you really wanted to, I'm sure you could find a way.

I can handle myself enough.

( But he wouldn't know where to find a guide ... That might be wisest. )

I hope that the relationship between this city and Lyestellus is civil after what we did for them recently, but that's about all the tips I could give you. I'm sure there's some reading to be done or some officials you could ask about getting there, if you like? Maybe a little field trip would be nice! To stretch your legs and all.

If I find a book on the wildlife, I'll be sure to look you up again and loan it to you, too.

Good choice; with how far away it was, even if you manage to wrangle a flight there like we were able to, it'd pay to have a little extra knowledge up your sleeve.

It's alright, though! I'm happy to be of any use at all, and I spend half my time in the bookstores here as is anyway. So it's two birds and one stone! But I want to ask you something, if you do go to see the land sharks...

If you see two blind ones, could you please tell me? Just a matter of curiosity.
