living in color ( video )
( Jotaro is no nonsense; this is plain across his flat and stony face, and the way he introduces himself. )
I'm Professor Kujo. I'm interested in first-hand accounts of how this place has treated you all.
How different is it from your own worlds? The wildlife, the populace and all.
( He notably doesn't get into the same for himself ... )

[ this is an understatement jolyne, and from where he's standing you're probably looking about thirteen years different. details. ]
SPW have some kind of miracle going on, or...? Because I'll be honest and say anything is pretty fucking possible from the way things have been going here.
[ that is to say, she's happy to see you're okay. in her own special little way. ]
That is to say, everything is pretty different. Not really bad, just different.

He takes a couple moments to process, face still and stony as ever, although anyone who knows him would know well enough the pale heβs gone.
It takes him a moment to respond. )
Nothing doing on our end.
( Miracles. β¦ That word is sort of weird where he comes from. Where they both come from. He ignores, or rather doesnβt address, her second statement. )
You ... Grew up.
( Good one! Nailed it. )

[ nah, this totally isn't weird, not at all. this is totally normal, dad is suddenly like what? more than ten years younger? ]
Listen, I'm gonna be upfront and say this is probably the weirdest thing I've run into so far. Like sure, I was somewhat okay with the priest and our timelines being off by however long.
But last time I saw you was the first time in a long time and it wasn't the most ideal of situations. But I guess a part of me is kind of relieved to see you again, even if I don't know how to handle it.

Being a dad is weird.
And now seeing her jump up in age in such an odd place, so far from home, is even weirder. )
... Relieved?
( The last time can't have been too bad, then. )
It would be a lot to fill me in on, I gather. How old are you exactly?
no subject
You've never been big on details afterall. But that's something else I understood as well.
[ oh hey, this is something isn't it? a blink before she brings a hand behind her head ]
Nineteen. The last time I saw you before that was probably about six years, but even then I didn't remember you looking this young. So I'm guessing it's been longer since that incident.

But ... well. Not impossible, evidently. He doesn't say anything for a moment, doesn't even nod in acknowledgement. )
... I'd be open to seeing you. And hearing about it all.

How about we meet up on the beach in 15 minutes, I know you prefer the scenery and thereβs plenty of open space to speak comfortably.
no subject
I'll see you.
( Without further ceremony, the feed ends and he starts off. )

For starters, the wildlife usually don't have crystals growin' out of 'em where I'm from.
[That sure is a southern accent.]

Those don't... usually exist for me.

( Good talk! )
They're unusual for me as well. I'm very interested in those; do you know where they can be found?
no subject
Guess you missed 'em, then. They were here in the city, for a bit. Otherwise they're usually up in them mountains over there.

( He's a freak. )

[Like, you do you, but he doesn't want to be responsible for your potential demise either.]

( A pause. )
Have you been? Someone else mentioned it too.

I'd pick your brain, but I'm sure you have other things to do.

[BOY it sure helps to know what to talk to Jotaro Kujo about when you have his memories on DISC, isn't it?
Even if he wants to reach through the screen and choke the life out of him. Even if he wants to punch a hole through his chest the same way one was created in his back in the 80s. Sometimes you just have to keep playing the long game and play nice with the man who took your life away, y'know? Sometimes you have to try and remember the sort of plankton present in Floridian swamps.]

Land-born? Where can those be found.

( But he wouldn't know where to find a guide ... That might be wisest. )
But it might be better to have a guide.

If I find a book on the wildlife, I'll be sure to look you up again and loan it to you, too.

( Then a rare admission!! Good job. )
You're very ... kind.

It's alright, though! I'm happy to be of any use at all, and I spend half my time in the bookstores here as is anyway. So it's two birds and one stone! But I want to ask you something, if you do go to see the land sharks...
If you see two blind ones, could you please tell me? Just a matter of curiosity.
