Okay... I think this might work! What do you think, Chirithy?

[ventus has the camera propped up against something on the counter as he mixes together what looks like the dry ingredients for cookies. there's some flour stuck to his cheek and chiirthy perched atop his head and precariously leaning forward to peer into the mixing bowl. it raises a paw, as if about to say something when it just

tumbles

into the dry mix, sending flour and whatnot up into the air like a giant white cloud. it hits ventus right in the face and the camera's edges are touched with flour. chirithy pops up out of the bowl and laughs a little sheepishly.

ventus just sighs.]

I think... I messed up somewhere along the way.

[ven smiles, brushing some flour off of one of those cute ears.]

Well I was trying to make cookies, but...

Please do not make cookies out of Chirithy.

[She's known him for about ten seconds and she's already attached.]

Um, that's... I guess we've known each other for a while, huh? [ven hesitates.] Since I was much younger I think.

Those would be amazing, but I think they're kind of advanced. Unless you've got a whole bunch of cookie-making experience! I wouldn't know.

I don't, but Aqua does! She's really good at baking. Back home she used to make all sorts of amazing sweets. My favorite is her strawberry shortcake. It's the first thing I ate when I arrived to the Land of Departure.

I don't remember anything from when we first met, but I know it's been a long time. Sorry, I wish I could tell you a better story than that.

Aqua really is amazing and talented. She should hear it more often.

Master Invi helped me at first, but I thought I could... do it own my own...

Master Invi can cook too? What's with all the adult women I know having that skill?

[Admittedly it is kind of a stereotype, but honestly that just makes Kairi more annoyed that it's apparently true.]

I mean, I can too, mind you, but only well enough to feed myself. And the boys if I triple the portions.

I wish I knew how to cook well enough not to burn everything... the other morning I tried making bacon and that... didn't go well at all.

Sora and Riku can't cook? Or that they shouldn't cook?

Bacon can be pretty tricky. It sometimes seems like there's maybe five seconds tops between "limp and gross" and "fried to a crisp".

[And that's ignoring the risk of grease fire.]

Riku can cook fine, he just tends to stick to pretty basic stuff. Sora... well honestly I'm not sure now. Maybe his time with Little Chef rubbed off on him. Really the thing I worry most about is him getting... creative with the recipes.

I definitely have the "fried to a crisp" part down!

Well, if you set a timer, maybe you can just dial it back bit by bit until you hit the right spot?

No, but Sora, Donald and Goofy all talk about him, so I doubt he's some sort of joke Sora made up.

Did Sora tell you Little Chef was a rat?

To be fair, Donald's a duck, Goofy's a dog, and the King's a mouse.

This feels different... they're all really different from normal ducks, dogs, and mice.

That's a good point. I've never actually seen Little Chef, though. What's he look like?

Sora showed me some pictures of him on his gummiphone and he... looks like an ordinary rat.

... It probably says something that I find that weird at this point.

Well... I guess as long as he washes his paws carefully and everything, it should be fine? I mean, the problem with rats is that they usually aren't very clean.
