Okay... I think this might work! What do you think, Chirithy?

[ventus has the camera propped up against something on the counter as he mixes together what looks like the dry ingredients for cookies. there's some flour stuck to his cheek and chiirthy perched atop his head and precariously leaning forward to peer into the mixing bowl. it raises a paw, as if about to say something when it just

tumbles

into the dry mix, sending flour and whatnot up into the air like a giant white cloud. it hits ventus right in the face and the camera's edges are touched with flour. chirithy pops up out of the bowl and laughs a little sheepishly.

ventus just sighs.]

I think... I messed up somewhere along the way.

[ oh! ]

Would it be impolite to ask if Chirithy is an android? [ he leans out of frame, then hauls a little fox into his lap. ] This is Konnosuke.

[ the fox's ears perk up. ] Hello! [ then, a moment later, head tilting: ] It appears as if your cookies are burned. Perhaps you had your heat set too high?

An android? Like a robot? [he's not too familiar on robotics unless replicas... count.] Oh no, Chirithy is a dream eater! So... kind of like a spirit?

[he holds chirithy up, brushing some errant flour off of one of its ears. it waves back to konnosuke eagerly.] Hello!

Hm... [ven glances back to where the oven is.] Maybe I did... I couldn't read the oven dials that well.

[ even more interested now, and probably starting to look just a little intense. ]

A baku? I have to admit, I've never seen one shaped like that before.. [ but then he blinks and smiles, the intensity fading. ] It's nice to meet you, Chirithy.

[ konnosuke's tail swishes as he stands, putting his paws on the edge of the table the device has been propped up on. ] What an honor to have a baku as a friend!

A baku? I'm sorry I'm not familiar with that word. [he tilts his head, curious. that brief moment of intensity was odd, but ventus lets it pass.]

It's nice to meet you too! I'm happy to have an android as a friend! [chirithy has made a new friend! ven smiles at the camera.]

I'm Ventus, but you can call me Ven.

It's the name for dream eaters where I'm from. They're known for eating the nightmares of children and giving them good rest.

[ so if chirithy is anything like a baku, well.. he's a wonderful friend to have indeed.

he scratches konnosuke's ears, but glances back up at the introduction. ] It's a pleasure to meet you, Ven. I'm afraid that I don't have a name to offer you in return, but.. I'm a saniwa, so you can call me that if you like.

Oh, okay! Chirithy is sort of like that too. I wonder what other similarities our worlds share.

[oh that's. new? not having a name must be hard...] A saniwa? May I ask what that is?

I had a feeling. [ the little creature is so kid-friendly and cuddly-looking, after all.

he pauses at the question, head tilting thoughtfully. people have asked him this a lot, actually. ] We're.. a bit like priests and priestesses, I guess you could say, though our role has expanded considerably since the term was first used. [ a beat. ] Most of us have at least a little skill with magic, as well.

[that's so cool, he's never met someone like that outside of stories he'd hear from master eraqus during lessons.] Is there a reason you don't have a name, though? It must be hard to distinguish yourself from others who are like you.
