Video 002 | Lancer of Black
[He appears on screen again, this time his clothing is slightly different. He clears his throat and gives a more prepared statement. A stark difference than his casual conversation last time.]
To all who inhabit this relm, and many of those who came here like I did, I would like to announce the opening of The Dragon's Den. You may find it on Level One along PrismaPlace. We shall be serving cocktails, wine, and what I am told are appetizers.
[He realizes it's a bit odd for him to be advertising a place but there's always a purpose. Even though he tries sounding cheerful about this his tone comes off as more relaxed than anything else.
Also he cannot go without saying the next part.]
All who enter and are welcomed will be under my protection while finding respite there and all who seek my aid can find me there at most times. Consider it a sanctuary if you will, should the time ever come.
[There are some in particular he wishes to know that part but it doesn't hurt to extend his offer. He has to have subjects. Lancer does switch to more private conversations after this proclemation as he awaits in the comfort of The Dragon's Den.
(ooc: You can respond here or follow to think to the log if you visit.)]

no subject
[This feels a bit rude to ask, but his curiosity won't let him not.]
I don't frequent bars much, but I might stop by. Particularly if the drinks don't have similar effects to the ones at the resort.
no subject
[Even in life likely. Though the Prismal working with him did insist they'd go over well.]
I am sure we will find something to accommodate you. We have non alcoholic drinks for those who do not wish to indulge.
[He cannot vouch that every bottle he received or purchased is free of side effects but the standard things he knows are fine.]
no subject
[but I'm entirely too lazy to make a separate thread on the log so!
Atsushi isn't particularly notable as a customer - he orders something nonalcoholic, then relaxes at the bar. Just about the only unusual thing is that he has a notebook he's writing in.
Some people go to write in Starbucks, some people write in bars owned by Heroic Spirits. Whatever works.]
no subject
Would you like to try something else while here?
[He's curious about the work the stranger is completing but he doesn't pry too much beyond glances at the pages.]
no subject
[Even dead people do not live on drinks alone.
Atsushi is writing descriptions of other patrons, as is his usual warmup - but it's noteable that one of the paragraphs on the page sounds a lot like Avicebron, despite him not actually being here at the moment. Caster takes a long time to figure out how to describe.]
no subject
He takes the moment to notice his companion's description in the log and wonders idly how Caster has been since the incidents below. Letting the guest read the menu.]
You are a perceptive one I take it?
[Well, now that's interesting. He's not too fond of over curiosity in strangers but still so long as this one isn't trying to interfere it should not be an issue right?]
no subject
[He and Avicebron got along really well, partly for that reason; partly for the 'spirit of a famous writer' thing; and partly because Atsushi, despite having the curiosity inherent to most writers, is too polite to pry.]
Do you write?
no subject
[He had certain educations but at least in this form his focus lies elsewhere. He leaves that book of descriptions alone, instead turning back towards his minor, temporary duties.]
Though I can appreciate the efforts. Is there anything you would like to order?
no subject
[Even people not used to Western food can't resist the allure of breadsticks.]
Well, I certainly wouldn't be able to manage a business, so I can appreciate those efforts as well.
no subject
[They're like stakes you can eat. He scrawls down a quick order for them to deliver to the back. It'll only be a few before Lancer comes out and puts a little basket of them with a potent dipping sauce beside them.]
no subject
[Aren't steaks the stakes you can eat?]
Even being willing and able to advertise a business and to put yourself out there is a skill set I don't have. Whether it succeeds or fails, I admire what it takes to try.
no subject
[It helps to have a more friendly aura than Lancer too but he's working with what he has. Hopefully decent drinks and food to bait people in.]
What sort of business do you see yourself best suited for?
[He might as well continue the talks. If he wants to accomplish his goals he needs people to remember him in a more pleasant way.]
no subject
I was a teacher when I was alive. Does that qualify as a business...?
[He's not all that different from a Heroic Spirit in nature, except that he would object strenuously to the 'heroic' part.]
no subject
A teacher? I suppose it is as much a business as a noble calling.
[He's curious as to what sort of being he's dealing with though at the moment.]
Though what would you consider yourself now? If you're not some ghoul or construct.
no subject
no subject
So an impression of someone imposed on an object and given form?
[He's not a Caster by and far but he'll get to that point soon. He's still well read.]
no subject
[Not everyone is as well-read as Vlad is.]
no subject
Do you speak of the one you have in your book?
[Because if there are more Casters maybe there are more people he should be recruiting.]
no subject
I do! He said I wouldn't recognize his name and I didn't want to press him about it - but we met recently. As a fellow spirit of an author, I feel like we're kindred souls in some ways. And he read part of my book and praised it! I'm truly honored, and deeply fortunate to have been able to meet him here.
[Senpai noticed him, etc. etc.]
no subject
[Lancer wonders about the ones who so freely give it. The hot springs not withstanding, he's managed to keep mention of his to a minimum. There are still far too many people that know it.]
Were you a famous author or more localized?
no subject
[Any more than Caster already is just by virtue of being Caster.]
Outside of Japan, I don't think I could be called famous. -Well, perhaps Micronesia, but that's about as far as I would imagine my name to be known more than the average writer.
Are you two friends?
[He seems to have a positive opinion about him, so surely they must be friends. Not just allies in a magical war, because that would be ridiculous.]

Any who walk through my door have the advantage of my protection from threats. That protection includes those they may wish to threaten themselves. This place is my establishment and I will not have others act upon their grievances around or within it.
no subject
I guess you might have to deal with rowdy drunks even on Level 1, so it's not a bad policy.
no subject
Roudy drunks are easy enough. Should you care to visit I guarantee you an uneventful and enjoyable time.
video
[Pardon Mordred. She knew very well who this man was and had chosen to stay quiet for the sake of her own fun-- but this announcement was enough to encourage her to speak up.]
I don't get what you're doing here, but I can't say I don't like it.
video
He greets her with a very, very fake smile.]
If war is what you wish I am ready and able to meet you head on, Saber. As there is no grail, and therefore no wish, I do not have reason to seek it out myself though.
[That's a lie. Killing Saber here would make his life so much easier if he should return home. Still, with so many factors unknown he doesn't see much gain here yet.]
no subject
[Sobering at the air of superficial politeness Lancer had assumed at her jokes, Mordred let her teasing grin drop and her stance assume the knightly decorum she was familiar with. She didn't know much about Lancer of Black's true identity... but she knew the mythos that had sprung in popular culture, and she had witnessed enough in their own Holy Grail War.]
I see no reason to fight either, so I haven't been bothering with too many of the other Servants here. Too annoying to deal with when there's plenty of other stuff we can do.
[This had been her first chance to simply exist as herself for much of her existance. She wasn't going to let it pass her by.]
no subject
[And right now he considers himself outnumbered should his particular war arrive. There are other unaligned servants and he is actively seeking their respect and favor. Still, this is not ideal.
Besides, she is right about one thing. In absence of the grail there are a lot of things here to explore and discover. Some distasteful but many exotic.]
This land has many oddities to enjoy and explore in the meantime.
no subject
She was biding her time, and enjoying herself while she did so.]
No kidding. I never imagined any of the things here, even when we were in Romania. People really are interesting, no mattere where they're from or where they're at.
no subject
Though there is no place like home, this place is amazing in its own ways. If not for agitation of the so called Moonblessings, I would think this more a vacation from my purpose.
no subject
[She laughed, a vibrant sound not unlike what Vlad must hear in his bar.]
Lots of people would call that a vacation!
no subject
I suppose though considering how often the moons rise, and my distaste for the side effects of such, I see it as a form of strife as well.
Though I will not fault you for enjoying yourself here so long as you will forgive me some home sickness.
[Not in the traditional sense he supposes but he does wish that he was returned to his homeland..]
If I may ask, what moon were you assigned upon arriving?
no subject
[She shrugged. She missed Camelot herself at times, but she knew there was no way she could ever get back those simple days of serving Crown and King. Not without the Grail...]
I think my Moon is Cordis... it's the one that gives me ears like a cat. It's annoying, but there's worse things.
Which did they give you.
Video
Video
[If one wished to pay with Moonlacing and wanted to try their luck, there's always that option. Otherwise the things he put forward were safe enough.]
I am not fond enough of debauchery and chaos as to play those games with potential guests.
Video
[She's got exactly zero interest in dealing with drinks that make anyone who imbibes them engage in bizarre behaviour, but she is open to new tastes and experiences otherwise.]
