Oh! As a knight to fight for them, but as...how to say, for information and learning more about the world?

[It seems more he is doing this just for the money and the knowledge, which if fair because he is cashing in on the skills he has. And is good at. Percival would thrive in a place where he could be openly strict.]

Would that make you, more like mercenary of sorts? Even in my time, as much as some would fight for their country, it is still a job that requires payment.

Nothing so crass as a sell-sword. Our goals merely align. To establish peace and order. It's a basic imperative of every ruling body.

[ It may not be his land, but it doesn't mean he's going to let other revel in chaos and violence while he's here. There are certain people within he wants to protect -and even those he doesn't know, they shouldn't fall victim to ruffians, vagrants, and the like. ]
