Saw talk about us getting sent back to where we came from.

[...Not that she doesn't understand why, 'cause, well... hey. Everyone's life got kind of interrupted by being pulled here, right? Plenty of folks probably left a shitload behind. But... pff, well. This is more just. Biting the bullet and getting her own thoughts out 'cause she can.]

I got reminded of where I came from by what happened with the plants. What it reminded me of got a lot worse, though. I don't know how much of a universal constant this is, but I was 3 or 4 when the Raccoon City incident happened on Earth. Plus I've been trying to move on from some things a long time.

I wonder how alone I am saying I wouldn't shed a tear if I couldn't go back.

I get that.
Some people just destroy everything they touch. [As... you know, limited a view some might think of a statement kind of implying "some people are evil".] Even with the ones who don't, a lot of the time it's easier accepting that things just happen than it is seeing people do things you never wanted to see them do.

It's weird by the standards of where I came from, too. Everything from living on another planet to what the moon does to people.
Of course though, I don't know how much weirder it is compared to where you're from.

that means I went world-hopping a lot.

But a world drawing people into it? and then having such a strong effect on outsiders?

THAT part is HELLA weird.

You know saying "Raccoon City incident" doesn't tell us anything, right? Hard to have a frame of reference to have a "proper" reaction if there's no recount of it provided to us.

But yeah. I'll take dealing with actual monsters than metaphorical ones any day.

But I suppose there's a good chance I'd be saying the exact opposite were I from some place that had dealt with proper horror movie monsters instead those that knew how to act like people. We've all got our own horribly unique sets of baggage we've brought with us here.

Maybe part of why I feel the way I do is because the people I used to know were made into monsters.

I wasn't there for it, but it was the first one in a string of terrorist events that have been hitting almost all over the world. One of them hit my hometown a few years ago.
It might be fine getting sent back to the world I came from as long as it wasn't back there. [...That hometown of hers, she means.] But I haven't been taken away from anything I would miss.
If anything, being here just puts a lot of distance between me and hard memories.
