This might be a weird request, but could I borrow a few baggy shirts? I guess Iris makes me grow big, uncomfortable, stupid horns that don't let me fit through doors and ruin all my tops! [ that is not a bitter tone, it definitely is not. ]

Promise to give them back after the moon's over?

I will admit that I've never had to deal with horns either, so my advice must be taken with a grain of spice

[What are idioms? Can you eat them?]

I suppose that would be true. I... didn't have to study for entrance exams, but I know that the ones that most take to get into colleges, especially the more prestigious schools, can be incredibly difficult. You sound as though you've had to live through them yourself however.

Oh, yes, I suppose I do! I apologize that I have not gotten that correct.

[When you speak over thirty languages, it happens, right?]

Hives?! That's terrible!

[Sonia takes an even longer pause before she answers the question Yukari asked.]

I was offered a scholarship to attend high school, but once that was over, I was needed back home in my own country. I didn't have the opportunity to attend college.

I tend to get them wrong. It's hard since I speak so many languages to know if I have gotten the wording correctly.

[Or that she's taken something literal that was figurative in meaning. Yukari is not the only person to be a bit exasperated with Sonia and her quirks. She can't help it.]

I loved the opportunity to learn about Japan firsthand. There is only so much one can learn from television, after all. Culture does not translate as well as one might expect, you know.

I am fluent in well over thirty languages, including French, German, Spanish, English and Japanese to name a few.

[Part and parcel of the princess thing. She can't even be said to be bragging since it's said so matter-of-factly.]

Travelling cannot be overrated. Seeing the world is important for most people, especially considering how connected it has become, thanks to the Internet. However, I loved Japan before I ever had the opportunity to go there. I am not the only one, either. Japan was second to only our own country in my people's eyes.

[Just imagine an entire country of weeaboo.... er Japanophiles. Yes, that.]

Yes, I have been studying them since I was three years old. Along side other skills I would need as I got older.

[What is having downtime or a personal life, Yukari? Sonia has no clue.]

Yes, the scholarship was truly a blessing. I am from Novoselic, which is a small country on the European Continent.

[Sonia lets out a surprised laugh.]

It is something like that, definitely. Being the princess of an absolute monarchy does require a great deal of diplomacy and fostering of goodwill with other nations.

Especially in Europe, which is so diverse and sometimes contentious. But it is fine that you have not heard of Novoselic. Cartographers seem to overlook it as well from time to time, but it is a small nation with a good economy not too far from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Greece and Hungary.

[She is not at all surprised that the other girl is fixated on that. It's pretty normal. Par for the course, honestly.]

Yes, I am a real princess of a small European nation. There are so few royals left all over the world. However, you know, even Japan has the Emperor and his family and there are is the Royal Family of Britain.

It is true that both countries rule more through their parliaments and that the monarchs are little more than cultural figureheads. And that is decidedly different from how my country is situated. The Nevermind family has had an unbroken line of ruling for over a thousand years because we have always done our best for the people and refused to focus solely on power building.

[Hey, school is important. Now she can put that knowledge to use.]

However, that is not to say that we don't have a council of advisors that gets elected by the people. They are just as respected as the kings and queens in power.
