( The feed flickers on to a young man sitting at a table in the apartments in all of his courtroom finery. While he very much looks as though he's done his best to make himself as presentable as possible, there's no disguising the bags under his eyes. This is very much a man who has not had very a good night's sleep in a long time. )

Good morning. For those who I've not met before, my name is Miles Edgeworth. I was a prosecuting attorney from Los Angeles, California, in the United States of America on the planet Earth.

( Truly, what has his life come to that he has to make that clarification! )

I have been reflecting on the events that have occurred since our arrival on this planet, particularly during the festival. ( The plants had been bizarre and all, but he hadn't overly involved himself with them, having found other people more suited to what he has decided to consider extreme weeding. )

While I understand that the natives of this world might be more accustomed to free intimate contact between strangers, I consider it downright criminal that our food and drink at the festival might have been laced with substances that affect our behaviour without our knowledge or consent. If anyone suspects they may have consumed some of the contaminated items, I would be most interested in talking with you further.

Well, the lip gloss seemed particularly affecting. Were there more things that had the same sort of effect?

It wasn't as messy as it was perplexing. From what I observed during the festival, consuming the chocolate resulted in a increased desire for hand-holding, even if it was not in that person's character.

The lip gloss made people want to kiss each other. Or made people want to kiss the one wearing the lip gloss, I guess.

I'm aware. ( However much he wishes he could forget. Yet, that is more complicated to address because he's not sure how make-up could even have such advanced properties. )

Did you wear any of the lip gloss yourself or find yourself around people who had?

Have you met many others from LA? I know of two who have also been brought to this place. Obviously this world has different laws than the one with which I am accustomed, but my plan is to acquire testimonies from as many people as possible and bring them forward to the government for investigation.

And here I thought you would be first in line to try suspicious food of suspect origins.

Ah, the American reputation for over-litigating everything rears its head. [Hifumi at least sounds more amused than disapproving.]

I suspect it may be a cross-cultural miscommunication. God knows those are common enough between different cultures on the same planet, and now these people have several cultures' worth of new arrivals. It may simply have not occurred to them that we're not as used to casual contact, or exposure to substances that encourage casual contact, as they are.

That isn't to say the point's not worth raising, and if nothing else, now we can warn anyone else who might follow in our footsteps.

Just because he was 'kind of cute' doesn't mean you should have to put up with his affections. Were you warned of the side-effects beforehand?

Not at all. It's just distracting.

I'll admit, I wasn't terribly impressed with it myself. It may be common enough practice among the native Prismals that they don't actually bother informing about it, but... I feel like we didn't really get a proper orientation on what's actually expected behavior here, given that we've effectively had to puzzle out how certain aspects of society even works.

I don't really think we have proper representation thus far, and if we're going to be here any length of time, we could probably use it.

The entirety of this situation is extremely concerning, to say the least. Putting aside any specifics with food or beverage, the abduction and celebration of said act is...sketchy.
