( The feed flickers on to a young man sitting at a table in the apartments in all of his courtroom finery. While he very much looks as though he's done his best to make himself as presentable as possible, there's no disguising the bags under his eyes. This is very much a man who has not had very a good night's sleep in a long time. )

Good morning. For those who I've not met before, my name is Miles Edgeworth. I was a prosecuting attorney from Los Angeles, California, in the United States of America on the planet Earth.

( Truly, what has his life come to that he has to make that clarification! )

I have been reflecting on the events that have occurred since our arrival on this planet, particularly during the festival. ( The plants had been bizarre and all, but he hadn't overly involved himself with them, having found other people more suited to what he has decided to consider extreme weeding. )

While I understand that the natives of this world might be more accustomed to free intimate contact between strangers, I consider it downright criminal that our food and drink at the festival might have been laced with substances that affect our behaviour without our knowledge or consent. If anyone suspects they may have consumed some of the contaminated items, I would be most interested in talking with you further.

Well, the lip gloss seemed particularly affecting. Were there more things that had the same sort of effect?

( Please don't speak to him about the lip gloss. He's still trying to get the stains out of his spare cravat. )

The chocolate fountain.

Oh. ... Sounds messy.

[But potentially exciting? Y'know, when you're not on a street fully dressed and not really wanting that kind of exciting?]

( That was... not the response he was expecting. )

It wasn't as messy as it was perplexing. From what I observed during the festival, consuming the chocolate resulted in a increased desire for hand-holding, even if it was not in that person's character.

It can be a little of both, right?

[Usually perplexing things did turn out messy, at least emotionally. That much said, Eva brought a hand to her chin.]

The lip gloss made people want to kiss each other. Or made people want to kiss the one wearing the lip gloss, I guess.

I'm aware. ( However much he wishes he could forget. Yet, that is more complicated to address because he's not sure how make-up could even have such advanced properties. )

Did you wear any of the lip gloss yourself or find yourself around people who had?

( And you know what, messy and perplexing does describe their situation here adequately! Not that he'll tel her that. )

Oh I wore some. Standing in line for food has never been so exciting.

[She says that last bit with a somewhat sardonic grin and a huff of breath.]

And here I thought you would be first in line to try suspicious food of suspect origins.

( He can match that sarcasm, Ms. Pond Water Lady! )

Did you receive any unwanted attentions after wearing the aforementioned lip gloss?

I figured I would let other people have the honor this time around. I can't hog all the glory.

[She's clearly amused. And even more so as her smirk falls to a more serious look, though she hides it well as she replies.]

I guess. He was kind of cute though.

Just because he was 'kind of cute' doesn't mean you should have to put up with his affections. Were you warned of the side-effects beforehand?

[There's a soft huff of breath from the woman. She can't help it, what he's saying is right and completely appropriate and yet somehow it just makes her want to prod him more.

She's been hanging around Neil too long, clearly. So sobers up some just to try to act somewhat like the adult she is.]

No. I wouldn't have put it on if I was.

So it is as I suspected. They are trying to trick people into intimate contact.

( But who are 'they'? He is not yet certain. )

Or it's a part of their culture they don't think they need to explain to us because they're not used to visitors like us. Remember Occam's razor.

[One should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.]

If that is truly the case, then we will inform then that it requires explanation.

That's fair. It's only right if we're expected to adapt to their culture that they take parts of ours into consideration.

Precisely. ( He smiles, but on Edgeworth's face, it's more of a smirk. )

What are you going to do with all of these contributions?

Collate them and present them to an authority who is capable of adapting our experiences in our place to better suit us.

Not a bad idea really. Maybe they can set up some sort of relations office where Moonblessed work with the local government and leaders.

Let us hope they are amenable to such an idea.

If they expect any sort of help from us, they're going to have to learn how to be. Ideally that's how it would work anyhow. Realistically? It's up in the air, I'd say.

I'm joining the Lunar Scientia though so I can help out some on those fronts hopefully.

Ah, the Lunar Scientia? ( A pause. ) Yes, you would do well there. ( She certainly has ... the scientific spirit. )

Do they have entry requirements?

[Edgeworth, forever stuck on one issue. He really is a lawyer, huh.]

Not really. Anyone can join it seems but you can't really lay hands on anything confidential or even that interesting until you take an aptitude test.

( He truly is. )

What do these aptitude tests entail?

I'm not exactly sure yet. I'm still studying before I even attempt the first one. I had to take a test like this for work at home and I'd rather go into this fully prepared. I'll probably end up taking classes at the Academy too.

I do know they start you out at something like an intern level as far as I can understand. Fellow is the basic rank, then Docents.
