I've been here for two months now. Ten moon cycles, if you count each individual cycle, and then the triple moon as its own cycle. My friends have gotten animal parts, new abilities, personality changes...I've seen a little of everything. But I haven't had any changes at all, myself.

I know that not every cycle is the same, and that it's sometimes stronger or weaker for some reason, but I don't know anyone who's never had anything happen.

So, I guess that's my question: is there anyone else out there who still hasn't figured out what their moonblessing is because they haven't changed? Or should I start getting worried?

[Someone please reassure this boy that he's not broken and isn't about to be sent back for being faulty merchandise, ok.]

I know it's kind of stupid to worry about. I should probably be grateful.

I mean, that's possible. There has been a lot going on, and even during regular cycles things aren't exactly quiet around here. Have you learned anything else?

I wouldn't mind, but the public network seems...[Public????]...not the right place for that. Did you want to know something in particular?

[That's...actually pretty reassuring. Honestly all of this has helped a little, and now he feels kind of silly for asking...but it's always better to know these kinds of things, and the more data he can share with everyone, the better, right?]

Thanks, Dr. Ziegler. Maybe there was something small, and I just wasn't paying enough attention, or didn't think it had anything to do with the moon cycle...

Actually, I was planning to come by, anyway. I was learning some basic first aid back home, but since I've been here, I haven't really been able to find a teacher.

( It isn't silly to ask at all! She's glad that he not only has multiple accounts to corroborate it, but that he had reached out at all in the first place. Her impression of him is of a rather serious young man that tackles as much as he can on his own. It's good to see him reaching out to others and speaking of his difficulties.

And she is, of course, happy to help. )

It could very well be; I could explain the urges witnessed that usually accompany each sign to help you better determine an uncharacteristic increase in any one thing, if that helps as well.

And I would love to have you in! Almost as much as I would love to teach you what I can. :) Did you have any interests in particular paths or applications, or just typical triage and first aid for emergencies?
I could help you dabble in a bit of TCCC if you wanted to go a step further, at a later date.
My days are often quite empty and I'll be here a couple hours yet, so whenever you would like to come by, you're absolutely welcome, Shoto.

To give an example of what I mean by masking: A good friend of mine has a natural affinity with water. He is able to manipulate water in many ways, which includes turning it to ice. He is also a Cordis- the Moonblessing with an affinity with ice. As such, there is a bit of an overlap there.

So that is what I am getting at here. My apologies if my question came across as invasive. I am not looking for anything particularly personal. I am simply curious if there is anything particularly unique about you by default!

Yeah, that makes sense. Although I'm not sure it helps much, in the case of my quirk. My ability involves fire and ice, so I'm not sure if that's going to make it more confusing or help clear it up.

There are a lot of really unique people here. I mean, we're all from different universes, or at least different worlds. I can get why it's taking so long to find any answers, if there's really no pattern between people and their moonblessings, let alone how and why we turn up.

[She's not wrong. He does tend to do as much as he can on his own, and he's not exactly much of one for sharing a burden, even if he's pretty frank when talking about things, but, well. Maybe some of his lessons are actually taking. He's learning to be a team player, at least in some ways.]

I've mostly just been learning basic first aid and triage. I just want to learn how to save people, not just fight them.

Learning how to set broken bones might be a good thing to learn first. I've got a friend who tends to have a problem with keeping his in one piece.

That's what I keep hearing. I don't know, I guess I feel like the waiting is a little...ominous. Like maybe it'll be worse when it finally happens.

Nothing. At least nothing I recognized as something weird? Like people keep saying, sometimes parts of a moonblessing can be mistaken for just normal things, I guess...but nothing's really been normal so far, so.

I mean, I'm always hungry. And tired. So that's not really any different?

I don't blame you. It's kind of...personal. I mean, it's necessary, and I don't want my friends to get hurt because they didn't moonlace enough, but...still.

There has to be some kind of method. If it were entirely random, there wouldn't be over a dozen people I know here. And there has to be a pattern to the moonblessings, too. I just...haven't figured it out.

Really? I haven't met anyone else who's been here that long...I know one of my friends was here pretty early, but not the first wave.

Has anything changed, since then? Maybe if you've been here since the beginning, you'll have more luck seeing a pattern.

I've seen patterns and similarities in people's changes and behaviors, but a big one is it seems like a bunch new Moonblessed come in right as a big event happens. I started heading out to those to get involved with local culture and society so I can understand the world I live in now a bit better, but, it also seems to be where the new wave is released after they're... process, I guess?

It kind of scares me how many Moonblessed are pulled from the moons on a monthly basis. And how many I seem to never see again.

Since so many of those festivals seem to be tied to the moons, or people themselves do, it'd make sense for them to be during the new moon, I guess. Or maybe we're all being called in by something happening. Like a tide?

...Do people ever come back? After they've vanished.

That's an interesting theory! I've also heard ideas that this is like a simulation - not real. I'll keep the "tide" thing in mind.

As for that, well... I lost someone important to me. So I hope they do. Somehow.

Goodness! Two elements at once! Considering Sanguis grants an affinity with fire, hypothesizing about potential masking is indeed a bit difficult in your case. We could hypothetically rule Iris out, but not conclusively. My apologies for being unable to provide a concrete answer at this time.

Yes, there are still many unknown factors about the Moonblessed. I would say that the only definitive pattern among us is the time in which new "waves" appear on the moons. But even the reason for that is a complete mystery to the Prismals thus far.

I'd like to do the same. If we're going to be here, I want to know more about where 'here' is.

Did it really feel different? The moon you were...called to, I guess.

That's right. I personally think we're all brought here on purpose to provide Chroma for them.
Which makes it even more puzzling for those who don't provide Chroma and why we're still here.

I wonder if any disciplinary action will fall on us for not being lovey-dovey.

Bad? No. Just massively frustrating, and there's never enough of anything. And that's not including getting ears or tails. Maybe you got lucky.

I can completely understand where you're coming from, if that is the case. And how it relates to the work you've been training for.

It did. It's hard to explain, but I did feel more at peace on one than the other two. Like I belonged there, if that makes sense.

Okay, THAT'S true. I don't think I've had a week without something really weird happening, here. I guess that's kind of the new 'normal.'

But I think you'd know if something was happening, even if it was only after you were done. Like I didn't noticed just how much Chroma I was burning and needing to refill until after my moon was already over. There's normal hungry and tired and then there's THAT.

I guess you're kind of lucky, then? Well, except that you don't know what moon you are, now.
