[ The video begins with Akashi waving at the camera. His face is a little too close to the device at first, but he backs up a little so he's seated comfortably on his sofa chair and people can see that his legs are crossed and his hand is on his knee. A comfy obocchan. ]

Hello, I'm Seijuro Akashi. I'm a student at Rakuzan High School, and I serve as the student council president and the team captain of the basketball team. Some of my friends are here, as well, although there may be others who know me whom I still haven't met. Let's talk, shall we?

Moving on... Prior to being here, I was in another world that took me from my home. I learned a lot there, and one of the things I wanted to know more about was the idea of binding souls together. There wasn't much information that I gathered though, despite Verens being a magical place... in any case, I'd like to ask the population here if such magic exists where you're from. Perhaps you can enlighten me all the more.

[ :)!!! Just a normal high school boy asking something so dark... nothing wrong here. He just wants to be with certain people forever. ]

Also, I understand that it's the Sanguis cycle now. [ He looks away as he strokes his chin. There are no wolf, koi, or snake features evident on him... ] Is it possible for one's Moonblessing to not be active? I understand that the Cordis and Iris cycles are yet to pass, but I see no other Moonblessing appropriate. Are there any other- [ He pauses as he tries to find the right term... ] late bloomers out there?

I do have another inquiry, more focused on the business side of things, but perhaps I'll save that for another time. I haven't been here for more than three weeks. I'm just a little... excited, that's all.

To be honest, it felt more like three on some days... while it's true that I was created from two souls coming together as one, I had also never entirely replaced the two souls that had brought me into existence.

Here, however... it really does feel like it's just me.

[ Faint as they were, the voices of Zorc Necrophades and the King of Thieves had still lingered even after three millennia.

They reminded Bakura daily that he was not not an actual human being like the King of Thieves had once been no matter how many of his memories Bakura so jealously guarded, but a demon born of their shared hatred for mankind. It was a role that Bakura had accepted with pride all these millennia -- but needed to be kept on the downlow here until the object of their ire had actually arrived to Prismatica. He wasn't going to make the same mistake of making enemies right away twice, after all.

Not after what had happened in his Monster World campaign regardless of how bored he's starting to get with playing "nice". No, patience is a virtue, and one that he's learned to wear well. ]

I think it must be because the magic that brought us together had been stolen from me before I was brought to this planet.

Do you think the other soul could very well find its way to this world? Perhaps inhabit a new body?

[ The topic's changed, but now Akashi's just curious. ]

Yes, though all seven of the seals that had locked him up to begin with would have to come to this world first... and while I already had one of them to my name, the rest have been claimed by others spread all across the world, from as far West as the "United States" and as far east as Japan...

[ Or at least, that's the path that Bakura had always known to Zorc Necrophades. In this world, it could very well be possible for the Great Evil God to enter this world on his own, especially if Prismatica has no control over who arrives... right? Hm.

It gives Bakura some food for thought, and his brow furrows noticeably. ]

Seals?

[ Bakura, your soul binding and soul stuff in general sound very complicated... Why can't it be simple? ]

[ Because nothing in Yu-Gi-Oh makes sense. ]

Yes, seals... they're golden treasures infused with magic, and when they're all brought together at the place they were forged, they'll set that part of my soul free... and break the Pharaoh's evil curse that keeps me from being one, whole soul again.

[ In other words, Bakura is a card game-playing Voldemort and the Millennium Ring is his Horcrux.

Of course, for a man that has a lot to say about the topic, Bakura is only telling half of the truth as always. But the forlorn look in his eyes appears to suggest lament on the surface. ]

On their own, however, they can form unbreakable bonds between the ancient souls they contain and the modern souls that wield them. But it sounds like you'd prefer that you and this person both remain corporeal... could it be that you're lovers?

[ Friendships that deep exist, of course. Even though they've always eschewed Bakura's grasp, and for good reason, he's seen them. But nothing invokes mortal stupidity quite like romantic love. ]

[ Well... Akashi knows something about souls being separated, that's for sure. His own was cracked and broken into two, after all. He's whole again now, but... it's still something he hasn't forgotten.

Of course, he doesn't say any of that to the stranger on the other end. ]

We do love each other, yes. We both would prefer if she went back to my own world with me rather than her ending up in her native world once all of this is over.

Is that right?

Her feelings for you must be very deep if she's willing to leave everything she knows behind to go to your world. I have to admire your dedication to one another. [ h-ha ha... ha. He actually wants to vomit inside but you know, fake it til you make it. He'll keep his inner edgelord to inward for now, instead feigning a small smile. ]

But what is it that stops you from going to her world instead?

[ He's not about to tell a stranger that he has a lot waiting for him in his home world, while Emerald has nothing. That wouldn't be fair to Emerald. ]

It's a dangerous world filled with monsters. I don't have any supernatural abilities.

[hauhra]

[ No matter. Bakura knows enough for the time being, and he'll file all of this away for later just in case, though he's looking as serene as ever on the bracelet screen. ]

That's perfectly understandable.

Finding your happily ever after is certainly going to be a challenge in an environment like that. I wish you both the best of luck... and remember, I'm always open if my world's magic is of interest to you guys. It's been a pleasure.
