Greetings. I will keep this short, with two inquiries.

1. For those of you saddled with deer features every month, do your antlers fall off at the end, or do they just disappear? If they fall off, what do you do with them?

2. Would anyone be interested in antler-themed home decor? I've noticed that rustic sort of look is rather fashionable now. I have one set in my own apartment balcony garden for climbing plants, but I could also offer:

-centerpieces
-tie or coat racks
-wall hangings
-candelabras
-wine bottle stoppers
-jewelry

If anyone is interested or wants to request another use, please contact me to discuss pricing, dependent upon size and time taken to sand and apply sealant. With holidays approaching in the next few months I think perhaps they would add a nice, cozy touch to the home for happy gatherings.

Yes, it isn’t particularly attractive when it happens, but I’m grateful for there being less of a hassle and the ability to comb my hair the way I prefer.

It all depends if people actually want them. We will wait and see. Personally I’m fond of the rustic charm, it reminds me of the mountains. I quite like what they’ve added to the balcony garden.

i just kinda gave up on my hair. it was totally impossible to get it looking right
but theres lots of magazines here so ive got some ideas for next time

That is true, I never thought about trying a new style. I doubt I'd see anything that suits me, and I'd rather not put in the effort for something that doesn't speak to who I am.

Is it stranger than picking up a stray set of antlers in the forest, that may be infested with vermin or urinated upon by another animal? I can assure you and anyone else that neither is the case for mine.

id never want to pick up stuff you see in the woods, i learned that much when hiking
just that its weird that we grow horns now and thats become normal

It is extremely strange, yes. I am grateful for the ability to create beauty out of such an odd situation.

As for my hair, perhaps I'll see someone about it. I do not wish to grow it any longer, so options are limited but I am sure they are not nonexistent.

Quite true. I also am sure I'll be more open to other appearances during that time, as I find myself a bit more relaxed.
It's difficult to find balance with changing moods when those moods can be so different from back home, and I probably do cling to any sense of what it was like before dealing with this, appearances and fashion included.

I wonder if antlers growing in overnight would ruin a set of hair rollers?

yeah everything is just so.... in flux here
and sometimes its hard to enjoy things when you know you could get sent back at any moment
but we're alive and thats what matters
we have to enjoy and experience what we can
even if that includes horns growing in

I'm personally rather torn on whether the idea of being sent back home is a negative. The chaos here is at least as absurd as it is back home, but far less of a burden is on me specifically, here.
But I think I miss my people very much, and my colleagues that are not also here with me.
It is indeed a wonder to still be alive.

I'm going to try it. I will report back. It's been a while since I've attempted curls.

That’s entirely true. I’m not sure why it’s striking me as stranger when someone willingly gives them away than when they’re taken from hunted animals, even if it’s definitely the kinder practice. I suppose it’s just that it’s unfamiliar.

Perhaps it is in my best interest to consider myself "self-domesticated." I believe a sheep that cannot help the fact that it was born bred for wool is grateful to be shorn provided it's done with care. Have you ever seen an escaped unshorn sheep? Harrowing.

For that matter I'm grateful I haven't had to deal with antler velvet. Yet. I should not "jinx" anything, as they say. What a mess that would be to deal with.

Where I am from it is commonplace to have a deer's entire HEAD mounted on a wall, particularly in the more rural areas. I find that much more disturbing. Antlers are shed naturally. I saw an opportunity and I took it. I daresay I won't be offering my entire head for sale.
