Greetings. My name is Soundwave and I wish to teach you something from my world. I promise that this will be worth your while to learn as you can gain Chroma from it.

There is a language my kind use called Chirolinguistics. Alternatively known as speaking Hand. Simply put, it is a language performed through holding hands between two people.

[And here's attached a drawing showcasing a few examples of it.]

Only my kind can 'speak' Chirolinguistics as this requires stimulating the nerve by transmitting electric pulses in the fingers, wrists, and palms to the brain. However, I've created a special gauntlet that not only helps you to understand the language but also allowing the stimulation and transmitting of electric pulses without potentially burning off your nerves and frying you to death.

"It's worth a try... I think. I'm not sure how different or similar our methods are, but we shall share the details later. Not here."

Some people already know about his powers, but he's still pretty secretive about the details.

"Yes, you can come over. I'll be waiting."

"Well... Umm..." There was a rapping on his window. She was already there! She must have started moving a little while ago.

"Hello there!" And of course she doesn't use the door like a normal person.

That... was quick. Though it seems like the knock comes from the window than the door. Huh.

Well, it was a good thing he materialized his avatar in preparation for the lesson. Otherwise, she would have waited a little longer. He walks towards the window he heard the rapping coming from, and lo and behold, it was Koishi.

"How long ago were you out here?" A genuine question.

"Not very long!" She drifted inside and took a moment to straighten her hat before absolutely pouncing for some youkai-sized hugs and cuddles.

"You came right when I knocked. So it's just fine! Also, hellooo! I missed yoouu!"

The pounce took him offguard, but fortunately he didn't fall backward and caught her between his arms. Soon enough, he accepted the cuddle.

"Right, hello. Did you, really?" A pause. "I suppose I should say I missed you, too, Koishi. How have you been?"

Thanks to it being his cycle, his affection level was upped a little, he returned the gesture and ruffled the back of Koishi's head with one hand, nuzzling her cheek.

"I'm good! I'm always good! Or at least content as long as I'm not physically injured."

And he got lots of nuzzles in return. Those tentacles had appeared once more, wrapping him up in velvety softness.

He accepted those tentacles wrapping around his body and rubbed the tip of his nose against Koishi's. But as much as he liked the cuddling nowadays, there was a reason Koishi visiting.

"Let's get back to the reason you came here for. ... Unless you want to stay like this a little longer."

Which, well, he won't oppose to it either...

[Lobco nods in affirmation and when Soundwave takes her hands, she intertwines them in turn. That pleasant sensation that comes with moonlacing is accompanied by something new--an odd sort of tingling. It's not unpleasant but a touch unexpected so she's unsure what to make of it at first.]

It feels nice. Different--but not bad. [She experimentally wiggles her fingers before returning them in place. She's very curious as to how exactly that works but she figures that would take time away from learning the language. Perhaps she'll ask some other time.]

"Noooo I wanna learn!"

She squeezed him once, lifting him into the air for a twirl before setting him right back down. Actually it might be possible to do through the tentacles too. They would have to give it a try later on.

"So, how do we start? I wanna give it a try!"

Seems my culture is the only one with tactile language...

[He would've added more but he'll just end it there.]

I have long blue hair, red eyes, rabbit ears.

[He'll wait under some gazebo, watching the fishes near some ponds. Of course he'll be on his human avatar- a young woman. Because smaller hands are more manageable than large robot hands for first timer.]

When he was set back down on the ground, he gave Koishi a quick nuzzle on the cheek before turning away.

"Follow me. You'll need special equipment to be able to speak it."

He'll lead her to the living room, where the gauntlets were rested on a coffee table.

[ And then Marie's hit by one of the strangest sensation, like reaching a Galaxy Brain moment for all but one second. There was a clear attempt of communication. She blinks rapidly, her gloved hands twitching slightly as her nerves feel like they've come to life from a deep sleep. ]

Yes, um... I felt like something was sending... something else in my head?

[ It's hard to explain, for some reason. ]

Good. That means the gauntlets working as intended.

[She feels a little tingle herself from Lobco's wiggling, but it came out as jumble. Though Soundwave may not know the exact workings or at least be able to explain well enough, he wouldn't mind answering any and all future questions.]

We can start by teaching you the vowels first so that you can speak words properly. Grammar and sentence structures will be for later lessons- I figured learning the vowels could be tricky for anyone unfamiliar with tactile language.

[Or, you know, anyone who can't freely transmit electric through their nerves.]

It's definitely a first. [Which in retrospect, Lobco chides herself for.

Ah well. Never too late to begin. She stops moving her hands and nods, showing that Soundwave has her full attention.]

Alright. I'm ready.

[She understands what the other is trying to say. It's not like Soundwave the best at explaining it either, outside of it's a 'tingly feeling'.]

That 'something' was the electrical pulses I was talking about being sent to your head through your nerves. The... feeling you felt is how communicating this language works.

[The exact working is something Soundwave himself doesn't understand fully- ~~thanks for the lack of explanation canon~~- it's just something Cybertronians already capable of doing.]

Anyway, let's start with the vowels... Or would you like to get used to the feeling first? [After all, this might be super weird for a species that can't do this sort of thing with their hands.]

[ Having never been in a biology class, she doesn't have a clear understand of what goes on in her body, but none of what Soundwave tells her hints that it's any dangerous for her body so she'll take everything at face value and try to memorize what needs to be saved in her mind.

To her friend's question, she thinks about it briefly. ]

If it is not a bother, I might need some more getting accustomed to.

[ She doesn't want the stream of information to overwhelm her. Needs baby steps. ]

That's fine with me. I'll do it a bit slower, this time, so to not make it too much for your head.

[Wouldn't want that pretty head of hers imploded with information. Though before she goes about actually doing that--]

Give me a word, Marie. It might be best if I repeat the word of your choosing. Perhaps a favorite word...?

[That way, Marie can at least absorb something while getting used to the feeling at the same time.]

[ Favourite word... that would be hard to decide...

Can you spell "France" to me?

[ Her eyes sparkle instantly at her own mention of the word. ]

Koishi followed, still very close and doing the occasional little twirl in the air. She was always so happy!

"Ohh. What's that?" She finally drifted away, floating over and by the gauntlets, examining them closely. She wasn't touching them though. Which was probably for the best considering the trouble she could get into all things considered.

"Those are the gauntlets I mentioned in the post."

Soundwave watched her drifted towards them. He wouldn't mind much if she had touched them, since she's required to wear them anyways.

"Wear them. Like I said earlier, you'll need them to speak Chirolinguistics."

"Ohhh..." NOW they got a poke before she picked one up. They were very big for her little hands but she tried to put them on regardless.

They... didn't really fit.

"They're really big!"

[She's about to begin, but stops from actually sending any pulses into her. Soundwave looks up at the shrimp girl for a moment.]

... Give me a word, Lobco. Any word will do.

[Favorite words or whatever.]

There might be others out there that you just haven't discovered yet.

[And that's the last message she's going to send, because she figures she'll be seeing him in a bit anyway.

A bit later, she's strolling up to that gazebo with the confidence of someone who does this thing all the time. Honestly, though, he's easy to pick out, considering he's the only one around.

In an effort to avoid startling someone she's never actually met, Pidge clears her throat a little louder than necessary, and then waves when she has his attention.]

Hey. I'm here for the uh... language tutorial?

[Any? She wonders if this will determine something, but decides not to think too hard on it.]

Trust?

"I can see that. Wait here, I'll be back"

He'll retreat to another room for a moment. Fortunately, he made different sizes that should be able to accommodate Koishi's little hands. And sure enough, he returned with a smaller gauntlet and held them out towards Koishi.

"Here. These should fit you."
