I haven't been here that long but something that I haven't heard talked about very often is space. Planets, specifically and those of you for who this isn't your first trip to another planet.

Though anyone who isn't from Earth I'd also be interested in hearing from. Sharing experiences as it were.

There seem to be many people here who are from more primitive cultures which haven't developed space travel.

Going to the local moon doesn't count as space travel.

I'm not from Earth, thankfully.

I'm from a small planet in the Outer Rim of the galaxy but have spent most of my life in space on various ships.

They did but I didn't go planetside until I was older. There was never a reason to leave the ships when I was younger.

Overseeing operations and missions as part of my job as a general. I don't go down every time but sometimes matters need a personal touch.

I doublt I'm the only one, there seem to a wide variety of people brought here.

I haven't seen that many people who are familiar with space travel, either. There's a few of us, though.
provenforce: (What's your hurry)

It's possible, though it's a large universe. There's a few people here from my own galaxy, but I'm entirely unfamiliar with the one that Earth is from. I'd never heard of the planet before coming here, though it seems a lot of people are from there.

I'm from Jakku.

[personal profile] provenforce 2019-09-29 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not entirely unusual to have not heard of Jakku even in my own galaxy. It's in the middle of nowhere and most people call it a junkyard.

Being out in deep space to help put it all up probably isn't what you mean, but it's what I've got.

Well, someone had to, didn't they? Universe wasn't going to just create itself.
whateternityis: (a devil put aside)

Oh, not nearly all of it. But I did help.

Stirring up starstuff where She wanted it to look more substantial, mostly.

I've been to Kerberos, one of the moons of Pluto, as well as a number of other planets.

We have some space travel that's Earth-based at home, mostly to the Moon base and Mars, but Kerberos was the furthest people had gone.

And then a race of purple aliens abducted my father, my friend and I from Kerberos, and we found out that we're primitive idiots compared to the rest of the universe. A bit of a rude awakening, to be honest.

They're called the Galra. Some are cat-like, and some are more lizard-featured.

Mostly imperialistic and militaristic and really mean.

Space is a polyseme, but by the definition you've specified, Prismatica is the second planet I have visited. Earth was the first.

The concept of "parentage" only applies to biological entities to define the individuals whose genetic information had successfully replicated and passed to a subsequent generation. It is a process that developed in response to the nascence of the concept of life and death as a means to circumvent mortality.

Anisotropic beings predate this nascence. As a result, we do not possess genetic information, thus the concept of reproduction does not apply.

[Which is just a fancy way of saying "I don't have parents," but saying only that would likely result in misunderstanding.]

My origin is Novo--planets as you understand them do not exist there.

[The white-haired man shakes his head, brows furrowed as he tries to find words to communicate a concept for which there exists no equivalent in this world.]

"Artificial species" is inaccurate. Neither word applies to Anisotropic beings; we are neither artificial nor can we be classified as a species. Additionally, our concept of interpersonal relationships is different from yours, and we lack a concept of familial relationships entirely. [They don't even have a proper name for their kind; they are entities that exist within Novo--anisotropic space--thus they are called 'anisotropic beings.']

Novo possesses higher dimensions than this universe. No equivalent concepts exist in this world--the conditions are fundamentally disparate.

[Which is why he considers Earth the first planet he'd ever visited.]

I have traveled to Earth. And this is another planet to have visited...or perhaps visit is not the correct word.

[ After all visits are temporary...whereas this feels very much permanent. ]

My planet...Noxutus. It is akin to Earth but different in many ways as well. We share common technology but we all have access to magic and our gods live among us. Something that Earth does not. ]
