And he's clearly interested in whatever it is she says, even if it's just to suss her out and find out what sort of person he's sharing a meal with. She's certainly interested in return, however, and in finding out where his idea of the world has come from. Nothing insidious, and she certainly isn't offended by anything he's said, either— it just earns him her wry amusement and sparks curiosity in her.
