[Caim has spent over a month contemplating exactly how to address the network or even if he should. Part of him thinks subtlety is the right pathway to take. Another part of him is convinced that he doesn't care. What does he have to hide, really? Who can really stop him?

[He watches her reach for the sword and for a moment, he feels a mite amused in observing her. She can't hold it terribly well. It might be for her benefit that they both use the same kind of sword. If she's not really familiar, he can't really expect her to learn much by wielding a sword she can barely hold in hand. Or maybe she's attempting to throw him through a loop. He wouldn't put that past her. Words are such easy little things to say and dangerous things to take at face value.]

Perhaps we should start with something lighter.

[When she asks about smaller swords, he finds that amusement again. No. Maybe she really doesn't know anything about swords at all. He feels like they're going to have a good deal of ground to cover.]

There are a good number of names for swords based on their make, their grip, their hilts, sometimes their pommels, and their blades. There is no simple answer to your question. Although I suspect often when one thinks of a 'smaller sword,' they very likely imagine a 'dagger,' which is also different. Some smaller swords could be referred as 'dirks' or a 'kris.' It is probable that the library here in the town has tomes on such things.
