Good afternoon. I am sure we are well aware of how currency operates here by now. I cannot say I am particularly fond of it as a necessity but I would appreciate any input anyone may have on the following.

Has anyone thought to perhaps harness this technology for whenever we return to our respective homes? In my home world, I primarily function as a peacekeeper and mediator. Before this became my purpose, I would attempt to avoid conflict through strategic marriage. I have been reluctant to admit that this caused more trouble than it avoided, but to this day I still hold the ideal that peace can be kept through agreeable relations.

Here, agreeable relations provide energy and currency, both of which are sources of conflict, debate, and an imbalance in quality of life where I hail from. It has even been the cause of violent conflict. Vulgar though it may be, I believe that it is human nature to value such agreeable relations as a far better incentive against such conflict than most anything else. Cash is an incentive that often wins out in the end, even when one is faced with peril. But here, we find that cash, renewable energy, and -- for lack of a better term -- intimacy, are all combined into one. Though I personally find the concept QUITE distasteful, it is my experience that most other living beings subscribe to the idea that "sex sells." What, do you think, may happen if humanity were faced with a reality in which it not only sells, but buys, and provides? It is my belief that such a system would put an end to all known conflict in locations where it is not currently in place.

How do you suppose we might preserve whatever we learn here, and bring it back home, so that agreeable relations can perhaps lead us to a post-scarcity society?

I have no further comment, though. I think if we bonded instead of restricting ourselves it would be very freeing. I think kinky people would have more to say on this - their whole scene is all about negotiation and openness and communication.

We are in agreement. If the methods to produce Chroma could be adapted to applicable equivalents in other worlds, it would solve many of the problems facing mankind.

I am glad to see common sense on the matter. Petty pride can be quite fragile in the face of these exact methods.

One can even have a nap in close proximity to another, and wake up richer. I find it to be a noble effort.

I personally keep wondering if there’s a catch, myself. It’s all very well and good to say that we should just make love and not war, but how do they account for inflation, exactly? That’s not even getting into the ugliness of human nature when it comes to things like jealousy and exploitation. About the only thing I can’t find a potential issue with is infinite free energy, honestly.

I can agree. I have permanently sworn off of battle, and I'm hopeful that perhaps being here could have a greater meaning. If I can make this idea work, I will feel like I have contributed something.

Do you think it would be worse than any corruption that exists already? Chroma only comes from mutually pleasurable contact, does it not? It seems like a safeguard, to me.

It's certainly a beautiful future to hope for, isn't it?

But of course there are those who seek out conflict and thrive upon destruction and despair, so it's likely that they would challenge the idea of letting things develop in that direction. Surely people would die as opposing ideals clashed, but that's always how things go. Of course hope would win out in the end, but that sort of thing can't foster without pain first, you know?

I feel that would be inevitable, yes, but it seems to be a path that would cause the least damage.

People are quite arrogant in keeping their ways, but people are also quite weak for the physical. It is why seducers make good spies.

While your...theories about human nature are sound, they do not take into account those individuals that do not care to follow such societal rules in the first place. We are in agreement that it is a rather distasteful system, but I do understand your train of thought. However, it also fails to take into account any non-human entities that may not be accepting of such...forms of relations in order to quell war or scarcity.

Simply said: peace, while something we should strive for, is not always an option.

Absolutely, there will be those that do not wish to engage, but there will also be those that overindulge. I am willing to bet there will be those that overindulge simply because they have the excuse that it's for the greater good. If the world population where I come from is any indication, I think it has a chance for lasting effects.

Non-human? As of right now, my home world has no known contact with non-human threats. I am doubtful that that could change, but it is possible.

Well, presumably the locals know something about it. Assuming this isn't some sort of sinister ruse, it's possible they can not only help return us, but provide us with the technology.
