[A happy hum as he settles in the spot he's relaxing in, in front of a piano keyboard.]

So today is my birthday. Which means it's normal to get spoiled and praised, right?

[Sitting up he runs his fingers over a couple of keys on the keyboard, it plays a small tune. Until he leans back in his chair.]

Does anyone know what kind of things are normal when celebrating a birthday here?

Or, even better, what did you do back home for your birthday? I'm curious what kind of things might be fun to do today.

I might. I was just curious what type of things people like to do back home for their birthday.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure my answer would give you any new ideas. I have dinner with friends and family. I don't really do anything special beyond that.

It's always a fun experience to be with friends. I have such lively ones that it's never boring when I'm with them.

Yes, that's right. My best friends are my former teammates in middle school. Even though we've gone to different schools now, I'd like to believe that we all still matter to one another.

Every now and then, yes. We play basketball together from time to time, outside of competitions, anyway.

I do miss people back home but it is pretty fun here too.
