[A happy hum as he settles in the spot he's relaxing in, in front of a piano keyboard.]

So today is my birthday. Which means it's normal to get spoiled and praised, right?

[Sitting up he runs his fingers over a couple of keys on the keyboard, it plays a small tune. Until he leans back in his chair.]

Does anyone know what kind of things are normal when celebrating a birthday here?

Or, even better, what did you do back home for your birthday? I'm curious what kind of things might be fun to do today.

Really? I don't think it's really that interesting. . . it just isn't a huge deal? Then again, birthdays weren't really a huge deal where I'm from until more recently.

They are to celebrate someone being around now, so that's nice. Recently?

More modern years, I guess. My country wasn't huge on birthdays for the longest time.

Gah. That makes me sound old, but yeah-- parents were kinda traditional, so we didn't really do huge birthday related things? Just stuff on my third and seventh birthday. . . not that I remember it too well. And even then it wasn't like, a huge deal. Just a shrine visit.
