All he knows is that after a good, long talk with Dirk, he at least got to feel like it was good he's there. Something Dave never thought he'd have again. Maybe sharing that would make it better for someone else, too. He really hopes that his father shows up, some how.

Losing Dirk was very hard in a multitude of ways which were bad and, guiltily enough, good. Dave isn't good at comforting, either, he's rough around the edges even when he tries. But he's tried and he gets at least, from his interpretation, that his effort struck their mark.]]
