It is now. I take it you're some kind of seafarer? Do you think a ship in a bottle would be too tacky as home decor, or no?

Oh, definitely not! It wouldn't be as impressive a title if I simply bestowed it upon myself.

Right. Names are usually given to you rather than something you give yourself. I've lost track of how many I've had forced on me. What did you do to earn yours? You must have been one hell of a pirate.

I'd have thought it a self-evident name, really. But I ran one of the most successful crews in the area.

What sort of names have you had given to you?

I think the most standout one is "a man who rebels against peace." But that's rather long-winded, isn't it? There was "usurper" a handful of times. Many others. None of them very good.

Sounds like you had some enemies. That's how you know you're living a good life.

A good life is a hard one. Some might say that, yeah. I have too many enemies to count. I try my best not to generalize them, but they don't make it easy for me.

Do you think it was a good life?

Now that I'm here, it hardly matters. I'd like to think that if I were back home, I'd be able to fight to make it a good life. I don't have that opportunity anymore.

Hard to say. There were things I needed to do back home that will forever leave me feeling unfulfilled here. Can't really answer without being biased. If I take a step back and look at things objectively, I guess there's not anything particularly bad about being brought here beyond the fact that I didn't get a choice in the matter.

I'm happy to be here. I wanted to leave where I was, so I suppose I did get more of a choice in the matter than most people. The only thing that could make me much happier is a nice big boat and the crew to go with it.

Why not just forget those things back home? There's nothing that can be done about them here and now anyway.
