As someone who loves stories, I understand wanting to hear it in its original form. But as a scholar, I appreciate lore being written down to survive the people who told those stories.

[Though a soul may perish, its feelings shall never fade away. And it helps if those feelings are recorded somewhere.]

I don't suppose we could have both.

My own late mother was a scholar of planar lore, so I suppose the apple didn't fall far in his regard.
