CASE 002 ♞ [TEXT]

Hello, this is Miles Edgeworth.

Firstly, I would like to post an update in reference to my previous network broadcast, located here.

I did forward everyone's submissions to the Office of the Magister Scientiae and have received a response from Magister Alcmene that the government is doing everything they can to best settle us into their society. Those struggling with the cultural differences, however, are recommended to make use of the local libraries.

While I personally deem this response inadequate, the fact remains that we are guests in their world, and there is still no solid evidence of foul play vs. us being accidental additions to their society. If anyone has any suggestions as to how to take this matter further, I would be happy to hear them.

All of those who provided submissions should now be in the receipt of coffee vouchers for the Lunar Scientiae cafe, a poor substitute for an actual resolution.

Secondly, I am planning on signing up for the Moon Knights soon, and would be grateful to hear about other people's experiences with the organization.

Finally, I am in the market for a roommate. Messy individuals with a propensity for sticking their noses in other people's business need not apply.

I thought that the Moon Knights did not adequately warn us about the problems we were getting into with Level 4. If the Moon Knights and Lunar Scientia are going to turn to us for help, they should be giving us as much information as they can.

We went to a luxury resort and casino called Obscuria at the request of Captain Natela of the Moon Knights. They wanted us to investigate a substance called Glow, which enhances people, but is dangerous. The leader of a crime syndicate called Eclipse was hosting a tournament there called King of Crystal Fist. We were asked to investigate the tournament as the Moon Knights believed Glow was used prominently there.

For one, there was the matter of the tournament. Participants were expected to wear bracelets that suppressed any superhuman abilities they possessed, but a fighter working on behalf of Eclipse, named Barbarus, went into the fights Glow-enhanced and with nothing suppressed. The Moon Knights should have warned us such technology exists.

There were other problems too, but that was one failing on the part of the Moon Knights.

He was not wearing a bracelet and it was blatantly obvious that the fights were one sided. He killed several people at the tournament, and all of the Moonblessed who fought him with their abilities suppressed were badly injured. The cheating was deliberate. Some of the Moonheld in the audience enjoyed watching the brutality.

The Moon Knights' direction was to investigate Glow and the tournament. They may not have known much about Barbarus, but I can't see how they would have known about this tournament and about Glow and not known that people cheat. In fairness to the Moon Knights, they did not ask any of us to enter the tournament. They didn't provide us with much leadership or direction in the first place.

I think there must have been a traitor among the Moon Knights, because somehow Eclipse's leader, Janus, found out about the investigation, and that the Moon Knight called Farouq was the one who was most directly involved with it. Janus had Farouq's young daughter kidnapped and used that to coerce all of our names out of him. Janus invited the lot of us to a "private party" that involved siccing an even more enhanced than before Barbarus on us. Fortunately, we had our powers then.

I think better of Lunar Scientia. They coordinated the visit to Amegahara better, and were prepared to assist people as needed.

I don't believe Farouq himself willingly put his daughter in harm's way. I believe one of his Moon Knight colleagues may have betrayed him and us to Eclipse, though.

Perhaps most of the members of the Moon Knights are better at fighting and patrolling for trouble than they are at investigating. Lunar Scientia is an organization devoted to knowledge and discovery, so it makes sense that they would be well informed.

They do work together sometimes when it benefits the community as a whole, but they do have different purposes and skillsets.

Perhaps. Will you share your experiences with the Moon Knights if you join them?
