My moonblessing this month is different from normal! I don't have wings this time, which is kind of disappointing, but I did get some other fun things.

I'm feeling pretty good about myself right now, too, so I felt like showing off one of the things I can do with this new form. Just don't look at this if you've got a boss hovering over your shoulder, or you might get in a bit of trouble.



What do you think? Pretty handy, huh? And maybe a bit spooky, but it is the right season for it.

Then please forgive me. Usually, people in my world never have tentacles coming out of them for any good reason.

I suspected either some manner of Far Realm intrusion, or someone planted the tadpole in entirely the wrong location.

Normally tentacles come from the purple moon, but sometimes things happen that temporarily change Moonblessings. A couple months ago, a friend of mine got traits from a kitsune.

This time, it's probably because of the fight on Iris. I'll be back to my normal changes next month, but for now I get to have fun with eight extra arms.

I'm not the sort of person who really tolerates unasked-for changes this well.

I have a bit of a strange relationship with my physical shape, I'm finding out. I don't really mind if certain things change, as long as the parts I've worked for are still recognizable.

All well and good; I personally don't care if the people around me are affected so long as they're not terribly distressed about it.

But hopefully you understand that when it comes to myself, I'd prefer to stay in control.

Unfortunately, we don't get to choose how much the moons affect us, or which moon we're associated with. Some people only get minor changes, while others get...well, can see how I look right now.

It's always temporary, though, unless you buy a Dusklight Bracelet from the traveling vendor who visits at the end of every month.

Some Moonblessing traits are actually very useful, though I have been coming to understand that I'm unusually lax when it comes to comfort with my body changing shape.

It's... I don't believe I'd be too distressed if they were changed I brought upon by my own hand. Once again, the key thing is that I prefer to remain in control.

It's only happened a few times before, but I feel utterly paralyzed when that control is taken from me.

I can understand that. If it was something more long-term, I'd be pretty upset by having my appearance changed without my input, too.

But it's only for eight days a month, so it's not any harder to accept than having my outfit dictated for me six days a week.

I'd say 'and with different mood changes', but that honestly depends on your moon.

Since it sounds like you haven't experienced your changes yet, you're probably Iris. That tends to mean protective instincts and...well.

I'm pretty sure Iris is associated with fertility, let's put it that way.

I was told we were all rendered barren upon our arrival, and despite my best efforts in my own world, I have every reason to-

We're all sterile, yes. I've confirmed with the the Lunar Scientia.

But each of the moons has its way of encouraging extra Moonlacing. Us Cordis affected normally have much higher metabolisms that leave us actively craving Chroma, I've been told by the natives that people affected by Sanguis have stronger primal urges, and Iris has effects similar to a heat cycle.

Not to be too detailed, but I'm perhaps one of the worst people to hand that to.

I'm pretty sure I can refute that statement, as long as you aren't the sort to pressure people about their boundaries.

That is to say, I doubt you have to worry.

Is it really silly, though? Chroma production is useful for a number of reasons, so it's not like you'd be wasting your time on frivolous indulgence.

Well, as long as you have a partner, anyway.

I've mostly been getting by on holding my hand out for anyone who needs a touch, at least as of now.

Not that I'm terribly choosy most of the time in terms of who I share my bed with, but I'd prefer to just take things as they come instead of it all feeling so...transactional.

I'd never suggest sleeping with someone you weren't interested in just for the Chroma!

But, it does make it a bit easier to justify spending some extra time with someone when you could be doing something productive.

All too understandable, I'm afraid. I don't exactly have the privilege of surrounding myself with people whose company I enjoy as much as I'd like, but if I ever do get to steal a moment with my brother or favored mistress...

Well. I do at least try to make it seem like I'm doing something important.
