I will not hide my identity nor pretend these words are not attached to me. There were men who thought I committed many wrongs before I came here. One man held me accountable and spared me nothing besides a lingering death, which leads me to my question: in your estimation, are there any crimes that are unforgivable?

What a common man or woman cannot - should not - do, a king or a queen can do for the good of their people, correct? Great sacrifices are expected in battle - in war - however do you think that a ruler's life should be forfeit for them? What good can they do if they are slain prematurely?

I can admit when I am wrong, but on this...

I don't understand.

Anyone can justify anything within their own minds, even the most horrific crimes, so forgivable and unforgivable actions are entirely a mater of perspective.

Even the concept of crime itself is just a perspective.

When this is mixed with the concept of a 'right' to rule, the capacity to justify is vastly expanded And tends to create a lovely list of reason why the common people rise up to execute them.

There are a lot of things that are unforgivable, no matter who it is that's committed them. Being forgiven, being spared for what you've done... I suppose it truly depends on who it is you need it from.

I wish I could provide more insight and helpful input. While this isn't the same situation I'm going through, I'm rather curious what others might say. I will watch this post with utmost curiosity.

You're allowed to consider it.

Just don't expect others to sympathize or necessarily view it the same.

No, you shouldn't. At least, were I in your situation, I wouldn't. But at the same time, if you are aggressive without thinking, then you'll be the one at a disadvantage. You must be careful with your movements, much like how you want to put someone in checkmate without them knowing.

Given sufficient conflict with personal morals any given person will act.

The key is to understand where those lines are and not push them with that specific person when you step over them.

If not him it would have been someone else.

While you could attempt to remove every single person who could possibly act against you, you would no longer be any form of royalty. All people have a breaking point and royalty only has the power that is given to them. Without any people there is no kingdom but without a kingdom there are still people.

Perhaps I misunderstood. I was under the impression your enemy was hiding in this city, too.

[ But ah, that's. . . intense. Akashi can't even begin to imagine such violence. ]

clearly someone thought you fucked up
you got any idea on what it was?
because there's some shit that's unforgivable but then some people will do what they think is right and just be out of their minds

Perhaps.

What would you have done, if another had acted as you did, with you on the other end?
teaserving: (and making dollars)

[personal profile] teaserving 2019-10-06 09:03 am (UTC)(link)
yeah you fucked up
it's probably good someone killed you
teaserving: (it doesn't matter)

[personal profile] teaserving 2019-10-06 09:27 am (UTC)(link)
and how many non-combatants did you kill
was that also among the thousands
because if so then you fucking failed everyone
teaserving: (i've come to make an announcement)

if you don't take into consideration the lives of the people who dont have a choice in their circumstances and just brush it off as a number, that's messed up. and you definitely deserved to die.

and you shouldn't be forgiven even the slightest until you have even a fraction of remorse.
