[Video] Help Wanted

[The sound of a man clearing his throat starts the video, but he doesn't begin speaking until he takes a breath, organizing his thoughts. He's only going to record this once so he'd prefer not to mess up anything. Eventually he appears in front of the camera, standing, arms folded over his chest.]

Flux is hiring dancers of varying skill levels. Particularly dancers that already know or want to learn how to do tricks on poles. If any of this interests you, do let me know and we can discuss in further detail.

We have also put in a bar to bring in more people even if they do not have plans to make use of Flux's services. In the future we hope to have music, drinks, and dancers for entertainment for those just passing through.

Also, if there are any DJs among you, I may have work for you shortly.

[And with that the video feed cuts off.]

I hardly think the manner of dancer matters so much. Why not have a broader range of diversity to appeal to a greater number of people? [Or non-people, as well, really.]

But would you really be interested in it? I have no doubt in your abilities, but I would like to see them. Not for selfish reasons, but because it would be prudent of me to observe them before agreeing to hire you, of course.

[Both things were true, and Hanzo suspects Zenyatta can tell based on the tone of his voice.]

Are you so certain? There are many in our world who would object to the mere presence of an omnic dancer. Lunatia seems a great deal more open-minded, yet I am not sure if I would not be more of a distraction than a delight here.

[For the most part he is treated- as politely as possible- like a novelty. But it does not seem particularly wise to bank on novelty in an establishment like Flux.

The request, at least, makes Zenyatta chuckle.]

Ah, of course! I am sure you would ask the same of all your applicants- although, as I recall, were we not dancing when we first met? Regardless, I would be willing to assist you, if you found you were lacking in performers.

[yakiniku]

This is not our world. This place has the most different and wonderful types of people, and being who are not people at all. To assume all of them would only be interested in one thing (or species, in this case) would be unwise.

[Also he really wants to see Zen sexy dance, selfishly.]

That is not the sort of dancing I had in mind for this..

[tekhartha]

Are my aural senses glitching, Hanzo, or are you expressing faith in humanity? This place has been good for you after all! [But, in all seriousness... his voice softens.] You are right, of course. I of all people should know better than to let my fear guide my actions. Thank you.

[A pause- then he chuckles.]

You seemed to enjoy it.

Fear?

[Of all the things, that's the one that he's stuck on. He's not ashamed that he's changing, but is a bit self-concious about it. Ignoring that in particular may be entirely strategic.]

I did not think you were afraid of anything. [After all, the monk does go off on the ridiculous Moon Knight missions at every opportunity. Or it feels to him when he has to send him off into danger..]

You will be dancing for people who are not me, and not with them. Just for them.

[tekhartha]

[Zenyatta makes a soft, ambiguous sound, part-hum and part-sigh; it is easy to imagine his shoulders sinking by just a fraction.]

Fear is both natural and necessary- to a certain extent. But one cannot let past hardships dictate one's future.

[Another sound, a deeper, slower exhale. When he speaks again his voice has a soft, teasing quality to it.]

... are you sure you would like that? For me to perform for someone else?

[yakiniku]

[As usual Zenyatta says precisely the most sensible thing, and so Hanzo cannot argue with that, but he will remember it. As he finds himself tucking away various things about the monk for no particular reason. Perhaps unconsciously documenting his progress in coming to know him better.

Aaand then his teasing comes to bite him on the ass.]

I-.. No. I would probably not enjoy that..

[tekhartha]

[And in spite of his self-control Zenyatta simply cannot stop himself from laughing.]

Then I believe that answers that. Although [his voice lifts, teasing] I cannot understand why you should be so protective of my dancing.

[yakiniku]

Why is it that I feel that you are now the one making fun at my expense?

[Hanzo groans, his shoulders sagging a bit in defeat--he's been caught.]

You are free to dance with and for whomever you like, regardless of my feelings about it. If you truly would like to dance some nights at Flux, you are welcome to apply like anyone else. I can keep my emotions in check. [In fact he is very good at doing exactly that.]

[tekhartha]

Why indeed? [His voice softens finally, almost tender.] Perhaps I shall. I am not sure if I could provide precisely the kind of dancing your clientele are looking for, but... I will think on it.

[yakiniku]

Yes, do that. Even if you decide not to go down that path, do keep in touch. It has been a while since we have seen each other.

[A pause.] I presume you are doing well?

[tekhartha]

"Keep in touch"... what a lonesome thing to say. You make it sound as if we shall never meet again- but I would like to. Most ardently. [a soft sigh] I am well.

[yakiniku]

It just feels like such a long time since we last met. What if you forget what I look like.

[He's deliberately being ridiculous now, trying not to laugh. It's not been that long, which makes it all the more silly.]

I should remind you from time to time.

[tekhartha]

You are mocking my feelings!

[He doesn't sound particularly hurt- if anything, he's doing a little teasing himself.]

I would not be opposed to a reminder... the offer, of course, is quite mutual.

[yakiniku]

I would never! [He absolutely is.]

Expect the random photo. Or not, and be pleasantly surprised.

I can think of no more pleasant surprise than whatever you have to show me.
