I can't speak on the behalf of someone who's been left behind by someone they love, but I can tell you that, as someone who...

I'm not sure how to put it. But my point is that memories and feelings are just as important, whether your loved one is physically with you or not. That doesn't make it easier, I'd imagine, but if you never risk yourself for fear of being left alone, then you'll be even lonelier, don't you think?
