Lots of people seem a touch down lately. So, everyone! I have a simple game that might cheer us all up, or at least make Iris cycle go by faster for me while I read everyone's replies!

You have to post your type! Physical preferences, personality traits you really like, your dream partner! Go on and list it, and people can say if they know someone like that, perhaps tease you for your preferences, that sort of thing. You can post anonymously here too, if you're shy! Just have fun!

Also, here is a funny picture I found. Enjoy!

I don't see that there is too terribly much wrong with that, especially when one's career benefits the world as a whole.
If I were to put down my scalpel, there would be hundreds, thousands of people untreated and without necessary organ or limb transplants I would have otherwise done.
So I'm quite dedicated in the end, but never turn down travel partners for company.

It's impossible to overwork myself while I'm here though, honest. Thank you for the concern for my face and its wrinkles. The nanomachines help a fair bit with that. ♥

And what was your coworker like, aside from shunning romantic ties?
foolishjustice: (That wasn't necessary.)

I feel like this comparison was inevitable.

It wasn't a criticism, I've always admired her dedication to her career.

Sae-san is a prosecutor, who went into the profession out of a strong sense of justice. She's strong willed and dedicated, not at all the sort to back down because something is difficult or people are pressuring her. She's also something of a perfectionist, she'll never settle for 'good enough' when something could be better, or pass off responsibilities because they're not what she wants to focus on.

Despite that, though, she can be quite compassionate. Her dream was to make Tokyo a better place, by making sure dangerous criminals are convicted and imprisoned. Unfortunately, she has...changed, recently. She's become consumed by her work, and started to care more about victory in court than punishing the right person. I've been told she's come to her senses since the last time I talked to her, though.

Oh, she also practices kickboxing. I've seen her knock a purse snatcher flat with a single kick before.

I went to google her and dang what a babe!!

I didn't take it as such, so please don't worry.
She sounds like a wonderful person you'd be honored to have on your side, if needs arose.

Would you perhaps be the 15 year old prodigy detective that responded to my clinic post before?
I do recall someone with a penchant for justice and a very interesting conversation.
I'm glad to hear that she was able to correct her path, if she strayed.

I can't say for sure if I could knock someone flat with a single kick, but I could take down most people I would run into, I'd say.
It's all about utilizing their momentum against them.
foolishjustice: (Shall I explain?)

Is it any wonder he goes on about her being beautiful?

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2019-10-13 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
That's me, though I'm 18 now.

I haven't seen for myself yet, since we had something of a falling out over her recent behavior, but I'm hoping the people who have told me about how she's doing were right.

That's more my unarmed fighting style, too. I prefer a sword or a gun if I have to fight, but sometimes a detective has to handle a rowdy suspect without drawing the sort of attention a gunshot would. I'm a little on the thin side, though, so I can't exactly rely on throwing my weight around.

Yes, I believe you'd mentioned, but I never did catch your name, so I only had so much to latch onto, you see.

I hope they were right as well; she sounds as though she'd been an excellent role model for you to look up to and that she's had a great impact on your goals.

Did you study Aikido, by chance? There was a bit mixed in with the military's CQC that I had to learn when I joined a paramilitary organization— it was geared toward peacekeeping after a world war of sorts. Redirection and the ability to disarm someone is often more than plenty regardless of your size.
foolishjustice: (May I help you?)

He has it so bad for her...it's cute.

It's actually a form of martial arts developed specifically for law enforcement, called Taiho-Jutsu. It does have some strong similarities to Aikido and Judo, though, since it's also focused around disarming and subduing an opponent without causing serious injury.

Ahhh that's right, I've heard of that. You're quite dedicated to what you do!
That's a lovely passion to see.
foolishjustice: (Shall I explain?)

He fusses about her workaholism, too.

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2019-10-14 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
It is quite personal to me, so it would be an insult to myself to not be dedicated to it.

I'm glad to hear that you've found something so important to you and have applied yourself to be able to go into the field for it.
I'm sure you're a wonderful detective; it sounds like you value it dearly and will always do what's best.
