[ He blinks back to the guy on the other end. Yes, it's a face he certainly doesn't recognize. Guess moving up from a Hardy Daytona to the kind of rides he's used to would jar most people. Then again, he's in a different world too. Cloud can tell they're kind of floored. Their statement gave it away too. ]

The base model was maybe three quarters the size. Gotta be prepared for the kind of work I'm used to.

[ attention rapt, Guanshan seems enthralled, big eyes following every movement; when the mechanisms snap open with that heavy metallic sound, he jerks back, reactionary in his surprise — ]

[ and this guy just does this shit like it's NO BIG DEAL. ]

That's... so... fucking COOL. [ he should really stop going around giving people big heads. ] I don't give a fuck about swords usually, but... storin' 'em in your bike? And it's so goddamn big too, I can't believe —

What's the top speed it can clock??

[ This guy's like the kids and other orphans were like when he showed off the hulking machine back home. Albeit far less crass (one kid might have said "damn!") Cloud's not in frame right now because he's showing the machine and sleek finish of jet black metal and crimson highlights. But there's a subtle curl of his lips. Unless it was in battle, he didn't tend to show off much.

But this...this was an exception he could make. ]

Haven't tested that out yet. But if it's anything like Fenrir, it could top out at about... [ Hmm... ] 400 klicks?

A klick's a kilometer, right? 400 an hour... that's so fast. I think I read in some article the record back on my world was like 600, but none of 'em look nearly as sick as that, and they sure as fuck don't hold a bunch'a weapons.

Yeah, up to 400 kilometers an hour. Doubt I'll be doing that in Lunatia anytime soon though.

Think so? [ If Weiss hadn't warned him for not wearing a helmet, he might have thought of that. Still... ] We do a lot for them here. Could be worth a shot.

Mm. [ He nods. Guanshan is just catching the very rare side of him that actually looks cool. Put Cloud around a bike or in a fight/serious plot? Coolest dude. Outside of that? Well. Everyone else knows how much of a doofus he is. ] Good to meet you. And...

[ Okay now he rubs the back of his neck a little. Still calm and composed, but he did appreciate what he said. ]

Hey, if you got that many swords, you can prob'ly handle the big monsters outside Lunatia, right? Or outrun 'em. Worst they can do is say no.

I got it custom built at a shop in Caihong. An old man and his niece run it. They'll sell regular hover bikes too. [ A beat. ] Definitely didn't come cheap...

[ Cloud went from being the cool guy on a bike to "hairwax". Fuck. If he's nonplussed about the name (it's a new nickname at least?), he doesn't show it as he decides to just go right ahead with his explanation. ]

In theory, driving a motorbike can be like riding a bike. Just way faster and you've got a clutch and throttle to think about. It's a lot heavier, too. But if you've got good control, the balance tends to look after itself.

[ in the same way Cloud is seldom cool outside of very specific scenarios, there are very few where Guanshan isn't an abrasive little shit. it's fate that they both met like this, really, some concoction that put both of their feet forward. ]

...So basically yer tellin' me it's a "crash a few times 'til you get it" kinda thing. [ that's exactly what he heard, anyway. ]

Would prefer you crash on the bike first before bumping up to this, but... Just another reason to wear layers and a helmet.
