Good afternoon, Moonblessed.

For those who missed my previous post, my name is Naoto and I've been busy further developing a project that finally reached its testing phase three months ago. I'm now announcing that it's time for phase two testing and I require several more volunteers. Though previous testers would be preferred, there's no obligation to participate again if you don't want to.

[ As in, he'll teleport inside if there's trouble. But Keith won't say that, of course. He walks into the house, nodding at Naoto cordially. ]

[Not that he would need him, she doesn't think, but could be a companion animal to help with something. She would leave the door unlocked.]

I'm Naoto, as stated in my post. Pleasure to meet you, Keith-san. So, which question do you want answered first?

Just Keith is okay. And uh-- well, what's this all about?

[ That's a reasonable enough thing to ask. ]

You said you had previous testers? What exactly are we testing?

Yes. Short answer, you'll be testing a toy.

The extended answer is Irises undergo certain physical effects that are best placated by physical intimacy. However, it's not so simple as to relieve this in one go nor is it comfortable for everyone to find someone at this time. Whether that's because they're a new arrival, have social hang-ups, or just aren't personally interest in sex, this toy provides alternative relief. Yes, you could get one from a Lunatia shop, but they've been crafted for Prismals, not Moonblessing symptoms that we can feel.

The first trial was testing the durability. This round is more to adjust features.

[ Look, Keith has only recently come into the idea that he is even capable of being a sexual being, and is far from being able to discuss this kind of thing freely without feeling nervous and awkward, but...well. If he's being totally honest with himself...this actually sounds kind of promising? With Shiro disappearing again and the Iris cycle always on the horizon, Keith has found himself hooking up with complete strangers to satisfy the urges that come with it-- and while that's not bad in itself, it's not really him. Maybe this is the best option. ]

Uh. Okay. So I just--take it home, or...?

I'll give you a prototype to take home, and once the cycle has passed and you're lucid enough, there are feedback questions boxed with the prototype to answer. You'll send those answers to me as well as any suggestions that can go into the next model.

[ She's almost too clinical about this, and it's a little off-putting. Not that Keith is particularly ebullient or anything, but... yeah. ]

[ Oh my fucking god. Okay. So thankfully Keith has been here long enough that he knows what those things are at least, because he'd have really looked like an idiot otherwise. Actually using them though? That's a different story.

Look, he's come a long way from the clueless virgin he'd been when he first got here, okay> He's not a prude. But he'd gotten used to having a partner for his cycles until now, so... ]

You can. Wait here a moment.

[Since she didn't bring out any boxes - no way she was having them just sitting in the living room. Going down the hallway, she diappears into her work space, but comes back out in a minute, holding a box with a red mark.]

[ Keith takes the box and honestly, he has held explosives with less trepidation. He removes the lid to peek inside, though, just to get a good look at what's in there and decide if he really wants to commit to this.

Yeah yeah, it's not that serious, all things considered-- but Keith is just that earnest and dedicated, so he's taking it seriously, as he does most things. It's been considered both an asset of his and a flaw, but it's just the way he is.

So yeah, what's he looking at here? ]

[When Keith opens the box, he's looking at what could be called a first buy vibrator. Smooth, gray and unassuming in appearance, not too long and not to wide around; just right for that first time toy use.]

One of the volunteers I spoke to has given me an idea to make them more inconspicuous when inactive so I might do that in the next run.

[Not a surprised tone - more like she's coming back out of a thought.]

Oh, no, of course not. This is the inactive state. With a little Chroma, the size, girth, shape, and texture can be changed.

Really?

[ That sounded way too eager, Keith. Whatever. ]

How does that work? Can you, uh, show me?

Huh? Oh...

[First time someone's asked for a demonstration.]

I can. Anything specific or just...?

[Because she might make something... odd.]

Oh! No, n-nothing like-- I just wanted to see it change shape.

[ Keith quickly clarifies himself, worried that he'd given her the wrong idea. ]

You don't have to if you don't want to.

No. No, I can show you. I'm just surprised since no one else asked.

[But if he wanted to see, it's fine.]

[Nothing specific so she might as well... she decides for something simple. A finger running the length of the toy, a little Chroma is drawn from her bank, but the toy changes. It grows a little longer and wider around, the pigment shifting from gray to something more tan, but still pale, and a few 'veins' breaking up the previous smooth expanse. Even the tip becomes swollen and more red, almost real.]

... So, I just went with the human standard, but some have been changing down there in that regard as well. Those forms have been included. [She hopes he doesn't ask for that elaboration or what studying she had to do.] It will return to the default state if its not in some manner of use for ten minutes.

[ One could easily fry not only an egg, but an entire breakfast on Keith's face right now. He keeps his eyes determinedly fixed on the toy, certain that he'd pass out if he looked Naoto in the face just now. ]

Oh. Wow. That's--actually really impressive. It looks-- I mean, you did a really good job. I'd just use the human one, so it-- yeah.

[ Kill him now. ]

[Her face is not that hot, but it might heat up a small amount of water.]

Thank you. It took months to get it this far even with help.

Uh. It's okay if you don't wanna answer, but, um...

[ How the fuck do words work. ]

Can I ask...why? Like, what inspired you to make something like this for Iris moonblessed?

No, it's fine. It's a valid question.

When I first got here, I was lucky to know people that arrived with me. In fact, I live with one of them now and he helped me through my cycles when they became incapacitating. However, not everyone is that fortunate; and even if they are, they could be unsure about broaching the matters of sex with someone else or not interested at all. A toy provides an option to do it alone, but to do so during the Iris cycle... the Prismal toys rarely are able to last the entire cycle.
