[ Hello again Lunatia - it's your favorite teen girl with a lot of make up and dark hair again, though this time with a few less frivolous questions to pose to you all. She's a little more casually dressed this time around, though by the sounds of her flittering around in the kitchen - she's definitely wearing heels, and occasionally sipping pensively on a glass of wine.
It would seem she's finally had enough of her little 'vacation' from no work and a bit of lounging to be done, and now has sort of lapsed in to pacing her apartment in want for something to do - and so, with that in mind she's come to the network, thinking that maybe someone will know of something that's more.. on pace with what she already knows.
Or, you know, goodness forbid, isn't something she'd consider below her. ]
So, again, I have a few questions. Mainly pertaining to employment here that isn't... serving. [ Taking orders or following too many rules isn't really Re-L's jam. Sorry, world. ]
My main expertise, or really all I've ever worked in, is more or less law enforcement as an Inspector at the Security Bureau. If there are any opportunities along this line of work it's what I would mesh in to most easily. If push came to shove I've also been taught how to play piano, but my preference would be for something along those lines.
Though - on that note... is it worth it to maybe work with the Moonknights? I haven't been here long enough to figure out if they're good, bad or some mediocre in between but at any rate I don't have any further wishes to work along with a government force that's meant to be.. a certain level of oppressive.
All law enforcement is oppressive at the base of it, so there's no use in debating past 'if they are used to enforce fear in the general civilian body I'm not interested.'
Does anyone have any leads? Any Moonblessed in need of private investigation or Moonblessed who run something of a PI outfit?
[ But then, as if to state the obvious. ] ... I'm going a bit stir crazy, here.

Of course. I already have several individuals who are interested in updates but are hesitant to join the ranks as well, so I will likely be making network updates if I uncover anything interesting in the future.
( A beat. )
Ah, yes. Enough time to acclimate to the stranger aspects of this place, but not enough to truly find one's role in it. Although, truth be told, I am still walking that path myself.
Have you considered picking up a new hobby?
no subject
I - [ Is it sad to admit this? She isn't going to think about it too damn long because she's come to realize there are, apparently, a lot of things about her life before that aren't really all that 'normal' to others. But, she supposes, there can't be a journey for 'self discovery' or however one wanted to word it, without a little bit of brevity. ] - Never really had time for hobbies, before.
[ Or wasn't allowed them, but there's time to discuss that. ]
It was always career... and then the who proxy business, but. That wasn't too far afield from work in the beginning.
no subject
I understand. I was much the same myself, back home.
( And in all honesty, he's still the same here, unsure how to simply relax without doggedly pursuing some sort of self-imposed goal. But it's an uncomfortable realization, and he decides not to dwell upon it. )
Is there anything you would have liked to try, given half the chance? Perhaps now is the time to seize the opportunity.
no subject
Not that I can think of off the top of my head. [ Her time had always been so structured - either from Donov or Daedalus in Romdeau, and then once outside everything was focused on survival, that having nothing to worry about food and supplies wise is maddening in itself.
Suddenly the world is her oyster and she literally has zero idea of what to do with it. ]
I suppose I could do more piano playing. Or study philosophy here.
no subject
( She'd mentioned the piano-playing already, so he wonders if this, too, is building upon a previously acquired skill-set. )
There's something to be said for going completely out of one comfort's zone.
( Not that he would take such advice himself, but he's sure it's useful for somebody. )
no subject
Yes. My grandfather liked to show me things that agreed with his world view.. I suppose preparing me, if I were to ever take over as regent, since he was so old. And then my doctor, Daedalus, always liked to introduce me to the opposites.
As I got older I read whatever I wanted, whether I agreed or not. [ Best to self educate and inform, right? Plus, she was made with the maximum curiosity a fellow citizen was permitted to have, so there's that. ]
Yes, of course. Easier said than done, though.
no subject
( What is with this place and its fascination with royals? )
It is always best to expose oneself to a wide variety of viewpoints when it comes to such matters. I've not looked into philosophy much since arriving here, but I can only imagine that it must be most fascinating.
no subject
In a way, yes. But his power was given to him and meant to be.. much more temporary than it ended up being, from what I could gather from Proxy One's more then likely intentional riddles. But then grandfather took things further than he probably should have, as is the usual ending, from what I can gather.
[ Even if she'd asked, Donov probably wouldn't have told her, so there's always that.At any rate he unintentionally made a 'grand-daughter' with a much more important higher purpose than himself. ]
Mostly hedonistic, but it's not all that surprising. Most of it seems new, as well. Which, considering all this calamity talk isn't all that jarring.
For the most part I've enjoyed it. Even if it's piecing together pictures instead of reading.
no subject
He can empathise with tricky family dynamics. Even if he isn't royalty.
And he assumes this Proxy One is some sort of Elder from context, but that's a matter for another time. )
When you say 'piecing together pictures', do you mean literally or metaphorically?
( He hates that in this place, he has to ask. )
no subject
Both, depending on the context. [ There's one of those little contemplating hums, and then she offers : ]
it's a bit like having picture books again. When you're a child.
no subject
Full of enjoyment and frustration?
no subject
I was a much more carefree child. I liked to make my own story instead of follow what was outlined there.
[ Except that was basically worked out of her, at some point, it would seem. Fellow citizen conditioning at its finest. ]
Now, it's frustration and not wanting to miss the intended point.
no subject
( It's something he's been reflecting upon a lot lately, given his experiences here and what he's learnt about his life back home. It's strange: he's grateful to have been brought here in a way, because he suspects it may have taken him much longer to be taught these lessons if he never had. )
no subject
You think? [ She'd heard too many times from one Donov Mayer that she was much too young to understand things. Granted, he'd ignored the fact that her genetics, in specific, pre-dated him by far.
But of course, grandfather also liked to twist things his way, hadn't he? ]
Only varying shades of grey depending on how you view them?
no subject
Perhaps that is applicable to truth, but certainly not to morality.
no subject
Elaborate some? Morality cannot be defined by the situation where it's applied?
no subject
More that some acts are so reprehensible they cannot be forgiven, no matter the circumstances.
no subject
And that would include? [ Look, she could probably reasonably assume a list, but it wouldn't due to just assume that his world was largely the same as most.
Color her curious. ]
no subject
( It's the only suggestion that he makes thus far. It's something that's been on his mind lately. )
no subject
Ah, so grandfather is already on your black list. [ Though she doesn't seem too wounded about that, honestly. She might be on his black list too, depending on how he looks at all she's done in the days and weeks prior to arriving here. ]
Not surprising on that front, though, really. Most people consider murder to be unforgivable, though I wonder if there's any grey area for circumstance for you.
Self-defense, something like that.
no subject
Certainly, self-defense is a mitigating factor to be considered. A person cannot be expected to simply stand by and be murdered themselves, for instance.
no subject
At least you're pragmatic, in that one. Though I do have other things, but maybe this isn't the time to be introducing all of that. [ How does he feel about exterminating 'free thinking' autoreivs, for example? She's curious, but it's also a lot of explaining to do and at the moment she isn't in the mood to go through all of that for a values question. So - ]
Maybe another time, then.
no subject
I am looking forward to our next conversation already.
